14| Horizon awards

The trip to the event, which I've now been informed was an award style show, was strangely painful. As soon as I sat myself in the car I got complaints from left and right about not being on time like usual. Meanwhile Angela was singing aloud even though she was wearing headphones.

Kobi let out the biggest sigh I think I've ever heard. "Angela, if you don't shut your mouth soon, I'll actually get our driver to stop the car, just for me to walk over 100 kilometers and then throw you off the bridge to afterwards throw myself off, since I wouldn't be able to continue living with that kind of trauma."

Everyone went silent and Angela's mouth was wide in shock. I did not expect that. From Angela I would've seen it coming, but definitely not from Kobi.

I put a hand on kobis shoulder. "Holy fuck," I gave him an intensely concerning look. "What happened to you?"

Kobi was about to talk when Angela cut him off. "He's pissed because he got rejected by a girl last night." She said then rolled her eyes at him.

"NO! listen Marc," Kobi shifted his focus to me. "I met up with a girl I had been talking to last night... and..." Kobi hesitated

"And what?" I asked genuinely worried how a girl could make Kobi act like this.

"Well... turns out she-" Kobi was about to confess when Angela yet again interrupted.

"SHE wasn't a she. It was an old man who was trying to meet his idol. The drummer of black spade." Angela was trying to be serious, it was clear that she couldn't keep her mask up.

"Wait... for real?" I asked not quite believing that Kobi of all people got catfished by an old man. The thought of it was kind of funny but I kept it in knowing Kobi wasn't having a good time about it.

"Yup." Was the only thing Kobi let out. I didn't know what to say so I just let out a soft 'sorry' then leaned back in my seat trying to empathize with him.

"We've arrived." Said the driver and Angela, fast as ever, swung open the car door as me and Kobi slowly followed after.

When I looked up to see the place I was quite shocked. I didn't even know our band was so big that we would be invited to this type of award show but non less it looked hella cool.

The building was huge and the outside was filled with paparazzi and other celebs were pulling up slowly. We had bodyguards following us in and for the first time in a while, I felt like a real rockstar.

The inside was even more beautiful than the outside. They had a stage, not a big one but it had a bunch of red and golden colors making it look way too fancy for us. We were sitting at a table almost in the middle of everyone's else's. There were so many big artists here but I was trying to keep my cool and not turn into some crazy fan boy.

Angela and Kobi were in awe of the place. "So what's this whole thing about?" I asked as we all got seated.

"Well it's called horizon awards. It's basically for rock and alternative musicians." Kobi said, smirking abit which shows me he's more excited than he shows to be.

"Cool." Was the only thing I had to say. I used to be super invested in these types of things but I've been so busy at home that I haven't kept up with any updates related to the band.

I checked my phone to see the time and there's only 5 min till everything starts. I couldn't help but go into Lucas's text chat hoping that he had texted me without me noticing but I found myself pretty disappointed when he hadn't sent anything.

"Excuse me?" I looked up to see a man standing next to where I'm sitting. He was a little older than me, judging from his appearance but he looked like a pretty regular blonde guy.
