I sat down on the mat
Laid down the stars
I gathered over the years
They once brightened up the sky
Sparkling lights
Far and high
I yearned to own them
Above all elseI planned and charted
The galaxies
Eager to do what
Was not done before
I reached out and grasped
Them
I believed it will be
Worth it
When stories of age
Are told
Of the woman who kept
StarsThe more the merrier
So sat down to count them,
They were too many to count
Too bright for eyes to behold
Dreams are best left in sleep
It was not worth
My timeLooking up to the heavens
They are darker
As the universe mourns
It's flashing lights,
What have I done?
Dear me, dear me
I envied and coveted
What was not mine
Now I turned the bright world dark
Whatever will I do
With a million stars
And counting
