As day turns into night
Days transform to years
So we change...
I have changedGone were mine young innocent eyes
Loved by many
Protected by a few
Scarred by many
I carried wounds on my body with grace
Shielded pain with strength
Till I became what I am now
Eyes wide open
I have changedI miss the younger me
Who knew so little
And loved too much
Ignorance is bliss
How I smiled and meant it
Prince charming I believed
Such sweetness within me
All gone turned sour
I have changedAs the earth rotates around
The burning star
I learn a lesson each year
Faults of mine I see
Obstacles I face head on
The harder the challenge
The stronger I become
Sweetness replaced by sharpness
Naiveness has become worldliness
Most roads I have forgotten I traveled
Few memories I cling to refusing change
Some friends are sorely missed
Many are a thing of the past
I have changedWhat is certain is I once was
But now I am
To except myself as I am
Pain , love , hate with scars and all
Is my new journey
So I smile and cringe when I look back
To the girl I once was
She resembles nothing of the woman
I am today
She pleased and loved and dreamt
I fight and hold on tight till the end
Unafraid to cause tears
So I shake my head to forget the past
No point in regret
Moving on is my motto now
For as you see
I have changed
