Olympia's POV
The squeaking sound of an alarm blared, causing me to plunge out of my bed in fright. I shuddered as I looked around my room, the sound was coming from my bathroom.
I scrambled into the bathroom to find the alarm, it's pitch becoming louder. Only one person could enter my room without permission and that's Anneliese.
The little brat had some balls! I sprang on my feet, yanking the alarm and smashing it on the bathroom's tiers.
I went back into my room exhaling in relief. I thought I was in grave trouble hearing the forest squeaking alarm sound.
Exactly! my little sister used a chaotic forest sound to set the alarm. I grabbed my phone to check the time, it's just 8:30 in the morning.
Why do I have to wake earlier when we are clearly still on Summer holiday?!
Just at the thought of my sleep being deprived, my anger rose to the surface again. Without any hesitation, I scurried downstairs, fuming.
I have been deprived too much already, I won't let them take away my sleep too. Everyone were already seated at the dining table, ready to have breakfast.
Mom looked puzzled noticing my mood, so she cocked her head.
"Sweetie you're awake. Is everything okay?" she asked tenderly as she dished out the food.
We are a family of five, my Father Mr Brandon, my mother, myself and my two younger siblings, Jason and Anneliese.
Trust me, it's the worst to have these two morons as your siblings. You will be frustrated to your very last nerves.
My parents are very busy people, always going on business trips, hardly or never at home. So believe me when I say my siblings are a total disaster.
I ignored mom's question and my eyes darted to Anneliese who flinched a bit.
"Anneliese, how dare you?" I gruffed, making dad to furrow his eyebrows at me. Anneliese is his little girl, not just that but his perfect little princess.
Only if he knew what that brat does, always getting herself involved in things that were way too above her age. She was once upon a time Jason's sidekick and minion but now.....
Now she's like the queen, the queen of nothing in particular. She's just three, Jason's thirteen and I being the eldest, I'm sixteen but I'm not given the respect I deserve.
"Olympia, what's the matter?" Father finally said something. I didn't even look his way because I'm already furious with both him and mom.
They denied me going for summer camp, since forever I've been born into this family, we were never allowed to socialize. I can't remember the last time I went out with my classmates, they now even call me a weirdo.
I won't blame them though, I'm from a decent noble family that is being driven to school by our private driver and he never fails to come pick us up exactly one minute after school dismissal.
Argh...I hate my life!
"Anneliese here snuck into my room last night and set an alarm, not just any alarm. But the one that can make you scream for help even when you're clearly not in danger" I spat and threw Anneliese a glare.
Jason suddenly began chuckling like a psychopath. What's funny?
"So that's why you rushed down here like a filthy dirty lunatic" Jason hissed and continued eating his food. A wisp of air leaves my lips as I gasped.
"Jason?" Father called with surprise marring his face.
Mom and Anneliese chuckled a bit, so they were amused about what Jason called me?
Due to my outrage, I forgot to shower before coming down. How stupid of me!
"Sweetie, what Jason is trying to say is that you should have at least brushed before coming downstairs" mom quelled and I rolled my eyes. "Just go up and shower, I'll bring your food up to your room".
I seethed, stamping upstairs and heading towards my room. I could hear chuckles from downstairs, they were making fun of me.
This is the family I was born into, and the same family I will forever be with.
* * * * * *
I sprawled on my bed after having my breakfast, as promised mom served me my food in my room. That's exactly how boring my life is, either going to school or cooping for hours in my room.Suddenly my phone beeped turning on, I spin around and grab it. The message was coming from my best friend Nora, they were going on a resumption party this Friday.
She of all people should know that my parents would never agree to that. During school hours I could only make a friend out of her to keep myself going.
I sighed as I switched off my phone and rested back on my bed, someone barged my door open and I abruptly jerked up to see the bloody fool!
"Jason what have gotten into you?! How dare you come into my room without permission?" I rasped, my glare at him morphing to furiousness.
Like always he wore his emotion devoid face, looking at me evilly
"Mom and dad wants you downstairs now" he gawked at me and stormed out. I sucked in a breath to pressure the anger that was building inside of me.
Why are mom and dad asking to see me? I wondered. I pulled down my duvet, sluggishly climbing down the stairs.
My eyes dilated in astound to find my parents with their luggages. No....No, this can't be possible; mom and dad can't be traveling for another business trip.
Anneliese was fluffing her white teddy bear, upon seeing me she clung to Dad's trousers like a scared little cat. Jason was relaxing with a leering face fixed on me.
"Sweetie I'm sorry this came up from nowhere. We have an urgent business meeting in California and it's important for I and your father to be there" mom coaxed and I rolled my eyes crossing my arms against my chest.
Their urgent business trips weren't new to me and gone are the days when I use to be affected by it.
"How long?" I asked, clearly oblivious of the gazes I was getting.
"For a week" Father said and I gaped in shock. A whole week? But they're only gone usually for two days or three, why is it different now?
"Mom....Dad I can't bear to be left alone with these morons for a week, I'll loose my sanity for sure" I bemoaned, definitely not expecting them to change their minds.
"Oh, so you can't handle little Anneliese? What kind of big sister are you?" Jason snapped, I looked at him with revulsion imprinted on my face.
Was he insinuating that I had no self control? My mind queerly whirled as a migraine struck me really hard. How come with the sudden headache?
My skull was pounding loudly in my ears, making me to feel unease. My ribs tightened in my stomach.
"Suit yourselves" I said unhinged, as I carefully made my way to the stairs when I heard mom's voice. "Did she bash her head somewhere? What's going on with her?"
"I'm perfectly fine mom" I grunted and sensed a stunned silence hitting the living room causing me to spun around.
"But sweetie, I didn't say anything" mom's eyes were laced with concern, Jason gave me a suspicious glance as I studied my slightest moves.
What's wrong with them? Of course I heard mom say that loud and clear. The migraine intensified as I turned bleary-eyed and my mind going muzzy, my legs felt floppy, not able to hold the weight of my body.
I thought I was going to swoon over but surprisingly, I succeeded in getting into my room. My head kept rumbling with my gaze turning upsidedown.
I badly wanted to shrill out loud but my voice was lost in my throat, I couldn't say a thing. My body stiffed forcing me to loose balance and I smacked to the floor.
My whole body ached with different voices blaring in my head. What's happening to me? I couldn't fathom a thing and in a sec, I lost consciousness.
