A/N: I'm really sorry this took so long! I know it's really stupid to be making excuses like this when we're only like 3 weeks in, but school was really piling up and I've been out of the house all weekend. I also hurt my back while lifting on Thursday, so I couldn't sit at my desk for like two days. Other than that, thank you all so much for 1000 reads! I know it's nothing crazy but it really does mean so much to me, especially since just two chapters ago we were celebrating 500. It's super cool to see people enjoying the stuff I'm writing, and it makes me want to keep doing it even more, so here you go. Enjoy!

You let out an impressive yawn, stretching your arms out wide to either side of you until the early morning tingling sensation subsided. Unfortunately, it was replaced by that of pain. You groaned.

Y/N: "Was that all just a dream? There's no way all of that happened in one day."

You opened your eyes with great regret, because it meant putting an end to one of the greatest nights of sleep you'd ever had.

Y/N: "This bed is about as comfy as a cinderblock, but I'll be damned if it doesn't feel good after getting my ass beat halfway to hell."

Up from the "bed" you rose, limping over to the closet. Adrenaline is a hell of a drug, and even though you practically lived off of it at this point, the crash afterwards was always rough. Particularly, when you got up in the morning and the hay bed only seemed to make it far worse.

Y/N: "What am I gonna wear today?"

You looked at the closet, which contained one article of clothing for each part of the body.

Y/N: "I think I'll wear this, change it up a bit."

It was the same outfit as always.

Into it you slipped, with a great deal of pain and suffering, since that shirt was very tight, and made your way over to the water pump to mess your hair up as always. Old habits die hard, just like putting your necklace on then covering it with your scarf. Finding comfort in a place of unfamiliarity is always important.

You half-walked-half-slept through your morning routine as always, but today something was bothering you. And it wasn't just your back.

Y/N: "Damn, my back."

Your back was killing you, though. Good thing your shirt doubled as a brace at the cost of cutting off circulation.

It bothered you the entire time you walked painfully to the guild, as everyone you walked past began whispering to themselves and staring whenever they thought you weren't looking. It bothered you as you swung open the doors of the guild as you'd done countless times by now, attracting the attention of everyone inside. And it kept bothering you as you found your misfit party and sat down next to the explosive girl as always, taking the seat directly in front of the imprint of a face in the tabletop.

Megumin: "Good morning, Y/N."

Y/N: "What's up?"

She sighed and rested her chin on the palm of her hand.

Megumin: "The usual, you know."

Kazuma: "Oi, Y/N! About time you decided to join us."

Darkness: "This might be the latest you've ever shown up, Y/N. Have you been letting your discipline slip lately?"

The two walking inconveniences made their usual remarks.

Y/N: "I'm not letting anything slip. I'm just tired, that's all."

Kazuma: "Relax! We were just joking. You were incredible yesterday! Hate to say it, but you deserve a bit of rest. As party leader I hereby grant you this privilege."
