Chapter 10

"Happy birthday, Mari!"

Mari held her chest out of shock when she opened the door. We organized a mini surprise for her since it's her birthday. Aiah, Yuri, Charisse, JC, Eddie are here. We also invited her brother, who is a former member of a boy group but now more focusing on being an actor.

"Tangina, kagulat naman!" Mari laughed when Aiah put a party hat on her. Lahat naman kami actually pero color yellow sa kanya. Ang sa amin naman ay color blue. "Gagi, thank you guys!"

Nang makita ang kuya nya ay agad syang yumakap dito. Nang bumitaw sya ay inabot nya ang buhok nito at sinabunotan nya nang konti. "Buti naman nagpakita ka na. Porket artista kana." She rolled her eyes at him.

His brother chuckled at her, ruffling her hair. "Surprise nga, diba?"

Hinawakan ni Charisse ang mga balikat nya at dinala sa isang chair. "May isa pa kaming surprise."

"H-huh? Ano? Baka strippers to, ah? Porket ako nalang walang jowa dito!"

We held our laughters together and get our phones ready. Wala syang clue na yung favorite band nya ang surprise namin. Her brother, Ginich, helped us in that part.

Mari's eyes widened when her favorite boy band, ECSTASY came out in the mini stage we set up for her.

"Hoy!" Mari quickly got her phone from her pocket to film them. She's even singing along with them.

"Go Bruce! Go Steven!" she cheered. "Shet, Go Callum!"

Tumawa kami sa taas ng energy nya habang napa-facepalm nalang ang kuya nya.

"Happy birthday, Mari!" the group greeted her. The member named Steven was holding her birthday cake.

Mari closed her eyes for a bit before blowing the candles. Nang malapit na gumabi ay nauna na kaming umuwi.

"Happy birthday, Mari!" I greeted her again, kissing her cheeks.

"Happy birthday, pre!" JC greeted too. Inabot namin ang gift sa kanya bago kami umalis.

Before we go home, JC and I would always go to the park in our village to have a date. We would always prefer to date at night than day. We sat on one of the benches. When we heard that there will be a meteor shower tonight, we decided to go here after Mari's birthday.

I lean my head on his shoulders before greeting him. "Happy monthsary!"

"Happy 10th monthsary, baby." JC whispered and kissed my head. He just love to kiss me there.

We are already 10 months in a relationship. We both finished our freshman year as Dean's Listers. Aiah, Charisse and Mari are also Dean's Listers while Yuri and Eddie earned spots in special academic excellence award as rank 3 and 6 respectively.

"Baby, I want you to promise me something." JC said while stroking my hair.

"Hm?" I hummed.

"Five years from now, magkita tayo dito, okay? Kahit anong mangyari in the future, come out and see me, hm?"

My brows furrowed. "What could possibly happen to us? I'm sure we are still going strong when that time comes."

"Basta, dito natin i-celebrate ang 5th anniversary natin."

We are just quietly waiting for the meteor shower but JC keep stroking my hair so I start to feel sleepy. Siguro dahil sa pagod ng pag-prepare ng birthday surprise kay Mari ay nakatulog ako.

Nang magising ako ay nasa kama na ako ni JC. He was sleeping at the couch of his room. Ang lapad-lapad ng kama, bakit naman natulog doon sa couch?

Tumayo ako mula sa kama para puntahan sya. Halata kasing hindi comfortable ang position nya.
