In sickness, health and possession-Ford x oc!

𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐈𝐕-𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐎𝐟 𝐖𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐝

They did it, Ford's thesis was published and awarded a grant and Dolly had finally graduated with honors. He held up the grant slip and she held up her diplomas, he was fashionable in his usual sweater vest and slacks and she wore her graduation gown, the cap slightly askew. Their occasional study mate Fiddleford held Dolly's polaroid camera out.

"Smile y'all!" She posed next to Ford but he pulled her into a kiss last minute surprising her "Here ya go Dolly."

"Thank you Fiddleford." She smiled taking them both back from him 

She watched the photo develop, the shock on her face and utter joy on Fords as he held her waist and kissed her hard. It was a perfect photo, she showed Ford and he kissed her again.

"You look stunning dear." He held her hand kissing it gently

"You're not too bad looking yourself." She smirked back up at him "So what are you going to spend the grant money on?"

They began to walk away from the auditorium

"How would you like to live in Oregon Doctor  Finch?" Dolly would never get used to that, the excelled studies meant she completed my doctorate in half the normal time 

"Why Oregon?"

"Whilst you were completing your exams, I found the origin of all the weirdness in the world. Gravity Falls, Oregon we have a meeting tomorrow at noon with the building company

"Tomorrow at noon. That's quite soon."

"Not soon enough darling, just wait till you see the plot of land we own now. We get to build our dream home my love." 

"Really?"

"Yes I figure we can have the lab in the basement and then the living quarters above ground. It's a beautiful town with so much strangeness to explore."

"Sounds like you have it all planned out."

"I didn't want to bother you while you had your exams darling, I knew how much stress you were under."

It didn't take them long to pack up the small amount of furniture and their clothes, their entire colleges lives fit in the trunk and backseat of Ford's car. It took the entire night into the early morning to arrive at the motel they would be staying at until the lab was built.

"I'm Dan." Dolly shook his hand so Ford didn't have to "So what's this gonna be for?"

"We're scientists, we're here to research Gravity Falls."

"Like the animals?"

"Yeah something like that."

Ford was looking out at the surrounding forests writing notes in his journals completely oblivious to Dan

"Well tell your husband that its gonna take two weeks to get this ready to work in."

"Oh he's not my husband." Dolly had never thought of the possibility of them getting married but it made sense, you date and then you marry. Would Ford want to marry her?

"Okay." Dan was unfazed and went back to setting up the foundation

"Thanks for the help Dan." He grunted in response

She walked up to Ford as he was investigating something in the ground. "Ford, it's gonna take about two weeks."

"Look at this darling."

She kneeled down next to him looking at the ground where he was looking.

"I don't see anything."

"Look closer." He guided her head closer to the ground, pointing at something "Footprints. Come on we have to follow them."
