"Fiddleford, it's good to see you again. We have you set up in the guest room." I hugged him welcoming him in

"Nice to see ya too Dolly. Nice place you have here."

"Thanks, let's get your stuff down and I can show you what we're working on."

We were ready for the test, Fiddleford held the test dummy as they approached the safety line, I stood back with the notepad to record any findings we may observe.

"Ok release the dummy now." I held a stopwatch to see how long it would take for it to be sucked in after 3 seconds I realized something was wrong

"Shit, Fiddleford." He was starting to be lifted up his arm tangled in the rope of the dummy "Grab him!"

I dropped everything I was holding and ran over to help Ford, using all of our strength we were able to fight the gravity of the portal and pull him back. His eyes were heavily dilated, unfocused and shaking. Tears welled in them as he shook, I tried to touch him but he instantly recoiled from my touch.

"What is it? Is it working? What did you see?" Ford rushed over to him

He spoke in no discernable language, in a voice almost not his own.

"Fiddleford are you ok?" He sat up not looking either of us in the eye

"When Gravity Falls and Earth become sky, fear the beast with just one eye."

"Fiddleford, get a hold of yourself you're not making any sense." He tried to touch his shoulder

"This machine is dangerous." He flinched back like Ford's touch had burned him "You'll bring about the end of the world with this. Destroy it before it destroys us all."

"I can't destroy this its our life's work." Ford tried to reason with him but Fiddleford was having none of it

"I fear we've released a grave danger on the world one I'd just as soon forget. I quit." He got up and began to walk away but I grabbed him

"Fiddleford, just wait. Let me make sure you're ok you can't just leave like this."

"No Dolly, you need to leave too. This shit is going to kill all of us. Fuck you Ford." He spat at him before walking up the stairs out

"Fine, I'll do it without you, I can do it without any of you. I don't need anyone." I turned to him, hurt he would never have done this by himself, he was an arrogant asshole if he thought this was all his work

"What does Bill even have in there Ford? Whatever it is it sent McGucket mad? And you want to go in there? To expose that to the world would be foolish."

"No Dolly, Bill he promised, this is meant to help us."

"Nothing that could've done this will help. Ford you need to accept that sometimes you can't have all the answers and to try and achieve that could have devastating consequences."

"This is my life's purpose Dolly. What am I without my research?"

"You are Stanford Pines, my husband, a smart man. You are not your research, we can study new things. You do not need to know everything, this is enough."

"I don't know anymore."

"I love you baby, come to bed with me." I held out my hand for him patiently waiting

"Okay."

"I'll whip us up some hot chocolates you go lie down and tomorrow we can have a talk about what we're gonna do."
