Is the random element in Binding of Isaac easy to imitate? It's easy and this is not a very confidential thing. A slightly knowledgeable game producer will have a concept in mind after playing it. But if you want to copy it, it's not so easy. Either you directly copy all the values and designs, or you have to rectify and add your ideas.
It's like copying homework. If you copy someone else's work word for word without changing a thing, you'll probably get caught by the teacher and face criticism. But if you copy it and change some words, adding your meaning, even if the teacher finds out, she might turn a blind eye.
The game Luna showed John was a sloppy copy, trying to copy but afraid of being caught, resulting in a messy outcome.
"Don't worry about this kind of game anymore; players will condemn them to death." Pulling down to the rating area below and seeing a rating of 2.5, lower than his original Monsters Dungeon, John couldn't help but laugh out loud.
As for the non-threatening move of sending a lawyer's letter, just forget it. What's the use of sending a lawyer's letter? If there is a real threat, court summons are the real deal.
"Establish a studio as soon as possible, and later I will go to the official platform for certification to facilitate recruitment," John said to Luna.
This ordinary dungeon shooting game, John feels, is no threat, but not all game creators have the same as this one. Now that the protection period of Binding of Isaac has passed, other game creators might make an effort. With their resources, they could create a more polished game than Binding of Isaac. The advantage of Binding of Isaac is only its fame.
Although it won't end Binding of Isaac, it won't be as hot as it is now. This is certain, and the most important point is that, although subsequent Binding of Isaac could launch DLC sales or value-added services, John did not think about that. He plans to release all the follow-up content for free, and he wants to release it soon. For example, providing players with their MOD editor, are things John intends to announce soon.
While not many studios are involved in this type of game, a new version and new elements should be released as soon as possible, so that the sales of Binding of Isaac reach a higher level. And then put the main energy into the next game.
Ordinary game designers, after developing a hot game, can live off it for several years or even a lifetime. The dream memories in John's mind are his confidence and trump card, a precious wealth that the other world doesn't know how many years. There are too many games that John can refer to and learn from, so there is absolutely no need to fixate on this game after it comes out. Because there are so many other things that can be released.
After deciding to open a studio, John and Luna did not hesitate much and immediately started the process.

During this period, the second batch of "Binding of Isaac sales arrived. After tax, more than 4 million was added to the previous 1 million, totaling more than 5 million. This puts no pressure on a small studio.
A technological area was newly built in the city in recent years and has good location conditions and convenient transportation, about 10 minutes by bike to the newly built community. The only flaw is the lack of large stores around, making life slightly inconvenient.
It took two days to choose a place and follow the procedures. They rented two offices on the ninth floor of an 18-story building in Block A of the area, totaling 110 square meters. The decoration was completed, everything was connected, and the office was ready for use once the equipment was moved in. A one-year lease was signed and the rent is not too expensive.
As for employee rest and entertainment facilities, John wanted to have independent game halls, gyms, and even restaurants, and cafes like the big studios. But unfortunately, the funds on hand are far from sufficient for these luxuries.
"Replace the wallpaper in the room. I will send the pictures when ready and order a few other handcrafted items." John told the decoration manager introduced by the landlord about his requirements.
Although the original office was renovated, it was only a simple decoration, unsatisfactory for both John and Luna's layout preferences. After paying a deposit and writing the terms of check-out and restoration in the contract, they began the second renovation of the office. The studio's name was also registered officially.
PixelPioneers is the name finally determined for the studio. As for the LOGO, it is very simple: it is the Greek letter lambda ( λ ) in orange color with an orange circle around it, this is the studio's logo.
"This house is not bad. It is much better than before." With his luggage in the new rental house, John stretched out and fell onto his bed.
"The price is a lot more expensive; the rent is one-third more than before." Luna put down her suitcase, then stretched out and fell next to John.
The two lay quietly on the bed, and after a minute, John's arm was poked several times by Luna's little finger.
"What are you doing?" John turned his head and saw Luna had turned her head to stare at him.
"The weather has been hot recently!" Luna sighed.
"Yeah, it's hot." Pretending not to understand, John nodded in agreement.
"Think of something." Luna poked John's arm again and looked at the air conditioner next to her.
"Take a bath, and the temperature will cool down after taking a bath." John pretended not to see Luna's gaze and played dumb.
"Turn on the air conditioner!" Luna couldn't hold it in any longer. She used both hands to poke John's arm with her index fingers.
"You should have said so earlier if you wanted the air conditioner on." Too lazy to find the remote, John smiled and took out his phone from his pocket.
"Humph, such a drama king," Luna grunted.
