Chapter 8- Trouble

I wake up to my alarm screaming.

"Katie get up" I hear my brother yell down the hallway. I get up and turn my alarm off getting back into my warm cozy bed.

I honestly hate morning so much, I just wanna lay in bed all day and do absolutely nothing.

I close my eyes for a second and I hear footsteps coming to my room.
"Get up Katie I'm not gonna tell you again" John says coming in my room pulling my blankets off me.

"Just 5 more minutes please" I say covering my face with my pillow.
"Now." He says grabbing the pillow tossing it to the foot of my bed.
"Fine" I say and sit up, sliding out of bed. I walk to my closet and grab my uniform.
"I'm gonna shower" I say walking to my bathroom with my clothes.
"Okay meet me downstairs in 15 minutes to eat breakfast" he says walking out of my room.

I turn the shower on letting the hot water run for a minute steaming the bathroom up. I get in standing there for a second enjoying the hot water running on my body. I wash my hair and wash my body then get out to get dressed.

I walk out of my room making sure to grab my phone and make my bed real fast. I grab my book bag and head downstairs to meet Garrett and John to eat breakfast. I throw my book bag on the couch. We're having crepes with strawberries. I love crepes they're so good but I absolutely HATE pancakes I don't like how soggy the texture is.

"Good morning" Garrett says as he grabs his coffee from the coffee pot.

"Good morning" I say sitting at the table. Shortly after John brings my crepes and orange juice to drink. I start eating my breakfast.

"I've been thinking if we hire a few ranch hands we're gonna have to get some ranch horses as well" John says taking a sip of his coffee.

"Yeah I was thinking the same thing" Garrett says

"Can I get a horse?" I ask joking around.

"Maybe, we can sure find a nice one for you" John says winking at me.

"That would be cool" I say taking a bit of my crepes.

We finish eating breakfast, Garrett already fed all the animals this morning.

"Alright pimp squeak you about ready? " John says grabbing his cowboy hat of the coat rack in the living room placing it on his head.

"Yes" I reply grabbing my dishes putting them in the sink. I grab my book bag from the couch and head out the door.

I get in the front seat of the truck putting my book bag on the floor board by my feet. I grab my phone from my pocket and play on it while we're heading to the school.

We arrive at school and John pulls in the drop of lane. I gather my book bag putting my phone in my back pocket opening the truck door.

"Have a good day at school Katie, I love you. Be on your best behavior...or you know what will happen" he warns me raising his eyebrow.

"I'll try, I love you too. Yes sir I will...." I say getting out of the truck shutting the door. John waits until I get into the housing before he leaves the drop of lane.

I head to my first class, finding my seat putting my book bag on the floor next to me grabbing my pencil and book that we will be using.
