After the incident with Caleb, Lucy's head was spinning as she lay in the hospital bed. The memories replaying and haunting her like a bad dream, except it wasn't a dream.
"At least he's dead, he's not here, you're safe." She repeated her affirmations mentally for the sake of her wellbeing. She slowly opened her eyes to look around. It was your average hospital room, bed, table, TV that only played one channel, and more monitors and machines than anywhere else.
Tim was sat down on the chair by the bed. He had been since 6:30pm the previous night. He hadn't got a wink of sleep, he was looking out for her constantly, and looking at her. He made sure she was safe and comfortable. "Hey." He whispered gently as he watched her wake up.
She sat up against the pillow slowly, "Hey." She said and rubbed her eye carefully. "Have you been here all night?" She asked.
He paused a little before answering, a dead give away that he had, "No." He said and looked over her face. "How are you feeling?" He asked, concern etched onto his face.
"I'm okay." She replied, glancing over at him. "Those magazines look interesting," She leaned slightly to look and he shuffled his chair closer to the bed to show her, "Which BTS member is your soulmate? Gotta be Suga, right?" She asked and looked at him.
He nodded, pretending he understood. "Totally. What's a BTS?" He asked and looked at her, his eyebrows furrowed as he attempted to understand.
She smiled and shook her head, "You're unbelievable." She looked at him.
He looked back at her, the smile that he missed so dearly spread across her lips. It made his heart jump a little. There was a small but comfortable silence.
"You sure you're okay?" He asked, "You need anything?" He asked, his eyes constantly scanning her features for any sign of discomfort.
"I am hungry, you know what I could eat right now-" She was cut off by Tim placing a small, brown bag on the hospital bed beside her.
"Veggie burger with fries, extra pickles." He flashed her a smile and looked at her.
"You know me so well." She said with a smile as she looked inside the bag.
"Too well." He said with a grin as he watched her, the events of the past few days finally sinking in, a heavy weight that was on his shoulders had been released. She was safe now. That was all that mattered.
Tim wanted to say something else before a nurse came in, "Sorry to bother you, are you her boyfriend?" She asked, glancing between Tim and Lucy, observing the closeness.
Tim cleared his throat, "No. No. I'm her training officer. Is everything okay?" He asked, concern etched on his face again.
"Yes, everything's fine. Lucy's ready to go home if you are. Are you able to take her home?" The nurse asked, her eyes glancing between the pair.
"Yeah, I can. It's no problem." He said with a nod and looked at Lucy. "You ready?" He asked as he looked at her.
"Can I get dressed first? This hospital robe is doing a number on me." She said, clear agitation from the attire in her voice.
"Uh- yeah. Here." He handed her a bag. "I brought some for you. Don't blame me for the style, I had to throw something together, and you've got a huge closet." He said.
"You went through my apartment?" She asked, sitting on the bed, slinging her legs over the edge.
"I had to. Unless you want to leave here naked?" He said, a small teasing grin on his lips.
"Oh because everyone would enjoy that." She said as she stood up and took the bag and glanced inside, "Thank you. It's not half bad actually. I expected a striped shirt and spotty pants." She smirked as she made her way to the bathroom.
