THE DAY OF THE OPERATION.
Tim was dressed in a white shirt with a black and white checkered jacket, some black pants and his slicked back hair, with a chain and the tattoos. Lucy was dressed in a neon green shirt, green pants. She had her hair straightened and just down normally, her makeup done with a smoky eye.
They soon arrived at the garage where the private jet was, there was Sean Del Monte, the leader of the operation they were busting and two of his men.
"Yo, you're late." Sean said.
Tim and Lucy approached, his arm around her as she leaned into him, "Sorry, our quickie wasn't so quick." Lucy replied, one hand resting on Tim's chest as she looked up at him, and in turn, he looked down at her, his hand on her waist tight.
Sean rolled his eyes as he watched them get close to eachother, then Lucy spoke up, "So, are you gonna tell us what we're doing?" She asked and glanced at Sean.
"When we're airborne. Get in the damn plane." Sean ordered, his patience running thin.
Lucy turned to look at Tim, and Tim gestured to the plane, "You heard the man, get in the damn plane." He said and followed Lucy inside.
They sat down one on of the seats opposite Del Monte, Lucy was perched on Tim's lap.
"Yo, y'all gonna tell us what this gig is or what?" He spoke up.
"You know who Roman Krupka is?" Sean asked.
"Nope." Tim replied.
"He imports H for the Monarch Cartel." Sean explained.
"So the competiton." Tim said, "Something like that." Sean replied. "Krupka's paranoid, doesn't trust computers, never keeps a written record. The details of his operation exist in one place.. 'The brain.' Sean explained.
"A man named Leonard Madris."
Lucy piped up, "Ain't that a little dangerous.. making one man the center of your whole operation."
"Yeah, it is. That's why Madris is kept under heavy guard. Barely leaves Krupka's compound. But we received a solid tip that he's headed to Vegas this weekend." Sean continued.
"With his bodyguards?" Tim asked.
"Never goes anywhere without them. That's where you come in. You take out the guards while I grab Madris. And then we torture the Brain for every detail. And take over the business." Sean said, the last comments earning a chuckle from his men.
"Oh." Lucy said, running a hand down Tim's chest, "It sounds like we should be getting paid more." Tim agreed with a simple, "Mm-hmm."
Sean spoke, annoyed, "Tough. Like my mom used to say, 'you get what you get and don't get upset.'"
After they landed in Vegas, they stuck around the casino for a while before heading to the hotel room. Lucy sat on the bed while Tim stood up, looking around.
Lucy put her elbows on her knees and massaged her scalp. "Ugh, my head is killing me." She groaned.
"You're really good at this, you know?" Tim said and looked at her, "The whole undercover thing." He clarified.
"Thank you." She said with a small smile and stood up, "Uh, do you mind if I take the first shower?" She asked, looking at him.
"No, it's fine." He said with a nod and sat on the bed where she was previously as she made her way to the bathroom. She shut the door but it bounced back, leaving it open a little. He looked at the room service menu and stood up, "Hey, you hungry?" He asked as he then glanced at her bare back through the crack of the door.
"Yes. I would get some french fries if you're ordering." She said as she stripped.
He watched, he couldn't take his eyes away, his mouth open and his eyes a little wide. He broke out of his trance and cleared his throat, "Yeah. O-okay. Um.. fries." He said and sat back down on the bed, trying to get the picture of her in the bathroom out of his mind. Although he wondered what she did look like. No, Tim. Stop.
He turned on some football on the TV as he waited.
She eventually came out in a robe and her hair was wavy and wet as she dried it with a towel. "The water pressure is epic. And I'm totally taking one of these robes. Wait, that's not stealing right?" She asked, looking at him.
He looked a little lost in thought, "No, no." He snapped back into the moment, "They'll just charge it to Hajek." He said.
"Then we should take two." She said, noticing the way he was clearly distracted, "What?" She asked.
"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked, looking at her.
"About what?" She asked in return, confused.
"The hospital, my house, your apartment, the virus incident." He listed off and stood up, "Look, I-I don't know. Call me crazy, but it just doesn't feel like pretend." He said and looked into her eyes, their proximity close now.
"Uh.." She began and looked up at him, "It's an intimate act. I mean, we'd have to be dead inside for it not to trigger something, right? It's.. It's basic biology." She said in a tone that sounded as if she was assuring herself.
"Okay, so.. So you're saying it's not a big deal? Doesn't mean anything?" He asked, a little confused and also... hurt?
"Right? I.." Dhe began but was cut off by Angela ringing Tim's phone.
"Yo." He said. Angela replied, "It's me. Can you talk?"
"Yeah. I'm just alone with Lucy in the hotel room." He said.
"Uh-oh." She replied, earning a roll of his eyes. "What do you got?" He asked.
"Las Vegas PD got a location on Madris. We're mobilising with LVPD.. unless you think you need us." She continued.
"No. We should be good until morning. When we get Madris, we're coming back to grab Hajek's crew." He said,
"All right." She replied, "Well be ready, good luck. Don't do anything I wouldn't do." She said before Tim hung up in annoyance, putting the phone on the bed.
"They get a line on Madris?" Lucy asked after having watched the phone call.
"Yeah." He replied.
"Good. Okay. Uh, I'm gonna go blow dry my hair. Otherwise, it'll be crazy in the morning." She said and he nodded in response.
He sat back and rested his hands behind him on the bed, he stared at the muted TV blankly as he thought over everything that had happened. The hospital, his house, her apartment. Did it seriously not mean anything to her? Or was she just pretending?
