TWO DAYS HAVE PASSED since Valerie had woken up from her coma. Everything seemed so much more peaceful when she was at the hospital. Occasionally, the nurse would check up on her, give her the meds she needed. No one was shouting at her there, she got the time she needed to process her thoughts. The pogues also came to visit her shortly after her parents left the hospital. They told her how sorry they were for not being there for her when she needed them. They also told her about the most recent drama that had been going on. Apparently, the founder of Tanny Hill, Denmark Tanny, was Pope's great ancestor. He left a cross somewhere in Tanny hill, and they had been working on where they could find it.
Valerie told the pogues about how Rafe had helped her, and if it wasn't for him, she wouldn't know where she would find her self. Obviously, they were grateful for that, but they hated Rafe for everything he has done to them. Sarah couldn't help but laugh about Rafe's soft spot for Valerie. She knew in fact that if Rafe cared about something deeply, he wouldn't let it go.
Valerie hated being in the middle of the drama, she wished that they could all just work together and be friends. Why is this kook and pogue rivalry so important?
She definitely didn't forget about the part where Rafe killed Peterkin, shot Sarah, then tried to drown her. But how could she think about that when Rafe was so sweet to her, how could she hate him for saving her life, twice. She knew she had to do something about his mental health.
But she also couldn't forget about the pogues, now that she finally realised she needed to end things with Kelce, she wanted to spend more time with them. They helped her understand how toxic Kelce was. JJ and John B swore they were going to get back at him for what he did to Valerie.
All the thoughts faded when she noticed Rafe walk inside her hospital room. She immediately smiled when she saw how happy he was.
"What did the nurse say?" Valerie sat up. Her eyes tracing Rafe's footsteps.
"You're free to go." He grinned, before helping her up and gently hugging her. "Only if you stay at home for another day and rest." He added.
"Ugh! Well, that's better than staying here and sleeping in this empty room." She chuckled.
"Are you sure you don't want to stay with me?" Rafe asked, pulling away from her and placing her duffle bag onto the hospital bed.
"My parents said they would stay down here for a few days, just to make sure everything was good. I'm sure I'll be okay." Valerie smiled, making her way slowly to the draws, opening them and begining to take out clothes and hand them over to Rafe, who packed them inside the duffle bag.
"How are you feeling?" Rafe glanced over at Valerie, before taking the remaining clothes out of her hand and placing them in the bag.
"Honestly, I feel great." She turned around, collecting a few more of her belongings. „Apart from the part where I need to face Kelce and that my ribs are still in the process of healing."
"Once you rest at home they'll be fine, you just need to take it easy for the next week." He gave her a sympathetic smile. "And about Kelce, if you want me there with you, just say the word."
"I don't really think that's the best idea." She sighed, placing the last few things in her bag before looking at Rafe. "He's your bestfriend. I cheated on him with you."
