TWO DAYS HAVE PASSED since the attempt of stealing the cross back. When they got back to the chateau, Valerie immediately left without another word to the pogues and waited for Rafe at home. When he got back, she bawled her eyes out in front of him and told him everything.

She told him about how she got the information about the cross and why she did it. She told him the whole process from the beginning of the plan to the end. She even told him about the kiss with JJ back at poguelandia.

Luckily, he forgave her and told her he understood why she did it. She promised him it would never happen again. She had received multiple messages and calls from JJ, begging her to come back to them. However, she left him on read.

Now, Valerie prepaired her self for the upcoming party Rafe was hosting. He melted the cross down and turned it into small pieces of thick gold, in hope to sell it and make a shit ton of money.

"God, how did I deserve such a beautiful woman?" Rafe peeked through the door to the bathroom. Valerie let out a laugh and shook her head. "Don't be dramatic." She said while touching up her make up.

"I'm not." He walked over to her and hugged her from behind, observing as she covered her freckles with some concealer. "How are you feeling?"

Valerie put down her make up sponge before turning around to the tall dirty-blonde. "Better." She smiled, giving him a quick kiss and walking out of the bathroom to put on her outfit.

"So I was thinking..." Rafe walked out after her. Valerie hummed in response, telling him she was listening while taking out her outfit from the wardrobe. "Maybe you could wear this today?" His words cut into her ears, causing her to turn her head around to face him.

Rafe held a small box in his right hand while slowly walking up to her. He looked happy but also nervous.

Valerie's eyes dropped down to the box just as he made his way to her. With his other hand, he took ahold of the lid of the box and opened it, revealing a silver six carat diamond ring. Her jaw fell wide open, her eyes almost going blind at the shine of the diamond.

"Don't worry, I'm not proposing just yet." Rafe reassured. "But," he said while taking out the ring  and gently pulling Valerie's hand up in order to place it on her ring finger. "This is a promise, from me to you, that I will indeed marry you when the time is right."

Valerie looked up at Rafe with watery eyes and the biggest smile he had ever seen. "And I promise you, you're the only man my children are going to call dad, and you're the only man I'll say "I do" to. I love you, now and forever." She wasted no time before connecting her lips to his. The warm and soft feeling filled her stomach as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"I love you, Val." He whispered back to her. "Now and forever."

It had been about 3 hours since people had started to show up. Music beamed throughout the house and onto the garden. Drunk people danced to the rhythm, smiles spreading across their faces as they pretend to be happy but as soon as reality strucks them they reach for more of the substance that makes them feel some what real. Valerie know this because, well.. she's them.

Valerie stood on the balcony while Rafe and Barry counted the money they had made together. Val was happy that Rafe had a friend he could trust and talk to, even though he wasn't the best influence and their past wasn't the best. But people change.

The ginger haired girl smiled at the sight of Rafe's happiness before pulling up the red plastic cup to her lips and downing the substance inside of it. The nasty taste washed over her, helping her forget the past couple of days. Within the crowd she spotted one of her good friend making her way towards the entrance of the house. A small smile tugged on her lips as she made her way down the stairs to her friend.

Once the girls spotted each other, squeales erupted from them both. Valerie sprung her arms up in the air as she jogged towards the girl. "Sofiaa!" She embraced her into a tight hug.

"Hey Winnie." Sofia laughed, wrapping her arms around her as well.

"I'm so glad you made it." Valerie pulled out of the hug and took ahold of Sofia's hands. "Come on, let me show you around."

"And this is the balcony." Valerie said while making her way through the glass door, Sofia right behind her. Rafe and Barry sat on the couch. Barry was the one talking while Rafe's eyes were glued to the floor as if something had shocked him into a state of horror. As soon as he noticed Valerie his expression changed immediately, as if he was trying to shield her from the awful truth.

Valerie made her way to the dirty-blonde and popped onto his lap. His smile grew genuine and his body relaxed while he wrapped a supportive around her. "Rafe, that's Sofia. My childhood bestie." She pointed to the brown haired girl standing in front of them.

Figuring Rafe had nothing to say, Sofia cut into the conversation. "You must be the boyfriend." She smiled while her eyes scanned his body much more inappropriately than needed to.

"Rafe." He sent her a quick friendly smile before placing his attention on the drunken girl in his lap. "You feeling alright?"

"Perfectt" Valerie slurred out with a grim on her face. Rafe chuckled at the girl. "Let's get you to bed." As Rafe tried to get up, she immediately stopped him. "No! Sofia literally just got here. I'm not gonna bail on her."

Rafe rolled his eyes. "Fine, but the minute you start puking, I'm dragging you to bed."

"Okay okay." Valerie jumped out of Rafe's lap before grabbing onto Sofia's hands and pulling her downstairs where everyone was dancing.

The night fell quick, the dancing and messing around made the time seem shorter than in really was. After multiple of shots and beer pong games, the crowd slowly began to die down. While Valerie struggled to find Rafe, she walked into onto of the bathrooms before closing the door in order to distance herself from the noise and the uneasy feeling settling in her stomach as she walked through the house.

She slid down one of the walls, exhausted from the long night she had. The alcohol was still in her system, since she had taken a large amount of it. It made her mind go blank and her body unable to function properly. She let the tiredness take over and within only a few seconds she passed out.
