A few hours had passed, and the next things Valerie had found out definitely hit a nerve she never knew she had. They were planning an attack. Apparently, when JJ had texted Singh from Jimmy's phone, everything went good until Singh tracked their location.
They had 10 minutes to prepare everything, stress grew in their bodies as they kept glancing over at the time. Now, they were probably on the highest floor of the abandoned hotel, waiting for the guards to come find them.
Valerie stood with her hands tied to a pole, Sarah and John B both next to her, also tied to the pole. JJ's voice echoed across the walls, he spoke loudly, making sure the rest would hear him.
With in seconds, the door swung open, revealing one of Singh's guards. He held his gun high in the air while looking around. "Please untie us." John B spoke with a fake scared expression that had been slapped onto his face.
"Alright. Keep your hands still." The guard said, pointing the gun at them. Valerie nodded while making eye contact with the guard. He moved forward, slowly dropping the gun, but before he knew it, his body dropped down into the floor, revealing that there was no concrete beneath him.
A loud grunt escaped his lips as he vanished into the floor. They watched dust fly from the hole and the tarp would no longer be there. "Oh shit. Oh shit." John B breathed while untying the rope around their wrists.
Shouting came from the lower floor, signalling that Cleo and Pope had begun their battle with the guard. However, it quickly grew quiet causing Valerie's stomach to twirl once again. The three began to eye each other, trying to listen what was happening below them.
When nothing could be heard, Valerie quickly took the spotlight. "Fuck this." Her legs traveled quicker than her thoughts, not processing what she was about to do. Valerie leaped forward and jumped into the hole. As she fell to the lower level, her body collided into another one. Soon she figured out it was the guard, and she showed no sign of getting off of him before they were the ones dominating.
Once Valerie spotted the gun in JJ's hands, she rolled off of the guard and stood up, making her way besides JJ. He held the gun high and pointed directly to the two guards. "Hey, now! Hey, now! Easy!" He warned. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. I would take it nice and slow now. It's time for y'all to freeze." He handed over a long piece of rope to Pope. "Tie 'em up."
Once Pope tied up the two guards, JJ handed over the gun to Valerie and proceeded to take out Jimmy's phone from his back pocket. As he kneeled down, Sarah and John B had finally made their way to the group.
"All right, let me see those mugs. This is going to your boss, man. C'mon, Smile." He said while taking a photo of the two guards. "For the record, they thought this plan wasn't going to work." He pointed to the rest of the group. He stood up and made his was next to John B while Cleo wrapped a cloth around the guards mouth, making him a gag.
"Alright, just sent that to your boss. Time for stage three. Hostage swap. We're gonna give your boss a little ring-a-ling, so hang tight." The phone in JJ's hands began to ring. After four rings, Singh had finally picked up the phone.
"Mr. Portise." His voice rang from the small device. "Do you have Ms. Carrera's friends?"
A mental block caused JJ to stay silent, everyone waited for him to respond but his body physically stopped him to. John B took the phone in his hand and proceeded to talk. "Yeah. Yeah...we found them. Listen, my name is John Booker Routledge. We have your men tied up and they're in for a really- really, really harsh time if you don't give us Kiara back right now."
Valerie squeezed her eyes shut before turning around in a circle. The plan was good, however the stability needed some help. The sound of laugher came from the phone, everyone shot their heads to John B, confusion filling their faces.
"Kill them." Singh said unbothered.
"What?"
"Kill them. Go ahead and kill them, John Booker Routledge. It doesn't matter to me, you know. Just know that if you do, the hotel is surrounded, you know. All of you inside will die."
Sarah and JJ quickly made their way to the gap in the walls, looking for the guards. "We gotta go, we gotta go right now." Sarah said, stress seeping out from her tongue.
The group began to run, leaving the two tied up men behind. They rushed through the halls, uncertain where they were supposed to go. They met an elevator, well, without the elevator...
"Wait." Pope looked at the metal that guarded the elevator. "What are you thinking pope?" JJ asked. He took a hold of the metal poles and began to push them to the other side, making a clear way of the elevator ropes.
"There's no way you're thinking about this!" Valerie yelled, her head snapped back quickly making sure no one had reached them yet. Pope leaned forward, looking at how far they were from the ground. "Uh- that's a drop."
"This is like the Hawk's nest part two. I'm not doing this. Nope." John B paced back and forth.
"I think we need to think about this from a risk-reward perspective." Pope said, his eyes never pealing from the ground that was five floors below them.
"How about you go first and cushion my fall?" JJ glanced over at Pope. "How about no?"
"Yeah, whatever. Forget this shit!" Cleo yelled out before pushing the two boys apart and leaping forward. She hanged onto the rope and slowly made her way down. Sarah quickly caught on and did exactly the same thing on the other rope.
"You go first, all right?" JJ glanced over at Pope.
"What? No. You got first."
"There's no time!" Valerie yelled, waiting for the two boys to finally make a decision.
"Same time!" They both said in sync before jumping towards the ropes and began to make their way down.
Valerie glanced over at John b. In that moment the still hasn't forgave him after what he said, but they had no time for arguments. "Now or never." Valerie looked over at him.
He began to take deep breaths, mentally preparing himself to jump, however, his head turned slowly, a mixed expression filling his face. "Do you hear that?" He whispered.
"What? It's just bells, cmon!"
Both of them leaped forward, hanging onto the rope for dear life, just as they were about to make their way down, a voice erupted next to them. It was singh's men.
"Oh shit!" Valerie yelled.
Within seconds shots were being fired at them, causing both of them to loose their grip on the rope and begin to fly down. Both of them screamed as adrenaline rushed through their body.
"Valerie!" JJ's voice rang in Valerie's ears, but before she knew it, she met a body sending both of them flying to the ground.
A loud thud echoed through the walls once they hit the ground. A pained scream escaped Valerie's lips once she realised she had landed on her right arm. "We gotta go!" Pope waited no time in helping them up.
"Val! You okay?" JJ coughed out while pulling her up.
"Fuck!" She managed to yell out as they ran towards the exit. Her hand reached to her back, in hope that the gun was still in her back pocket. Once she made sure, she left it there and decided that there would be no reason for her to now waste bullets. The pogues managed to get out of the abandoned hotel and ran towards the trees.
Cleo quickly stopped them and ordered them to back up. Once valerie reached her, she noticed one of Singh's guards standing not far from them. Luckily, he was faced backwards. Her hand quickly traveled to the gun in her waistband, ready to use it if necessary.
John B ran back and found a way to distract the guard. It worked and now the exit was in clear view. They made their way down the series of stairs and began to run once again.
