8:56am, Thursday
We arrived late in the evening and after checking into the hotel we ordered pizza to our room. We talked, drank wine and everything was wonderful. I felt like I'd gotten away from something that was suffocating me. For the first time I dare say I felt more relaxed and free. Or was it the wine? I don't know. We fell asleep quickly after that.
Erica left at 8 to get to the office in time for a meeting with the company associates. I woke up just now, lit by the bright sun through the window. I got up, stood on the porch, and took in a deep breath of air, as if someone had been suffocating me before and now I had a chance to catch my breath. I smiled broadly and decided to take a walk, drink some coffee and explore the city. I went through the bathroom, then put on some light makeup, combed my long hair tucking it into an updo, and decided to wear a bodycon dress.
After a long tour and a few conversations with locals that can't help but lift your spirits, I decided to have a coffee in a secluded cafe in a small side street from the center. I stood at a table outside and watched the passersby - it was so interesting. What were they thinking at that very moment? Where were they hurrying to? Does her husband love her enough?
I was lost in my thoughts when a loud noise brought me back to reality. Two glasses shattered near me, but luckily they failed to hurt me. I looked up to see who had caused this commotion. I saw a tall and athletic boy with deep green eyes. He was staring into my eyes as well, and that led to at least a minute of silence. It was interrupted by the man working in the cafeteria who came out to see what was going on.
-Oh, Kenan! Be careful not to cut yourself. Miss, are you all right? - said the elderly man, coming over to us.
-Yes, no problem. It's all right. - ' I smiled timidly and felt myself blush slightly, embarrassed by the young man's look.-Sorry! Please let me pay the bill as a token of apology. - Said the young man who I thought the owner called Kenan?
-Please don't worry. It's all right. - I smiled even more embarrassed and tucked a fallen lock behind my ear.
-'I'm ...' - he said, offering me his hand, but then I heard a woman's voice in the distance.
-'Kenan! Where are you? - ' Came from a woman who was slowly approaching us. She was tall, slender, blonde and very beautiful. Maybe in her 40s. - I've been waiting for you for 15 minutes! The interview is in 10 minutes - you know journalists don't like delays!
Then he pulled his hand away, and I couldn't even touch it. He smiled, winked playfully at me and walked towards the beautiful woman, lightly jogging. That evening, Erica and I decided to have some authentic Italian pasta. She checked Google and found what she thought was the best place. We had already ordered, and she was telling me about her day and how the first meeting had gone. I was so proud of her - young and so ambitious. I also told her about my day and the boy I met, but I never learned his name, or at least I wasn't sure I heard it right.
-Wow, how well Italy is affecting you. First day here and you are already garnering the male gaze and you look amazing - you are glowing!" - she exclaimed and I smiled broadly.
I looked back for a moment. Then I looked back again as I saw a familiar face on the magazine the man at the next table behind us was holding. I'm almost certain I saw the man on the cover somewhere.
-"What? - Erica wondered, catching my look
-'It's him on the magazine!' - exclaimed I.
Erica looked up and squinted slightly to focus on the man in the photo in the distance. - Belle, it's Kenan Yildiz!
-'Who? - I asked in surprise.-'One of the rising stars of Juventus - the football club!
