The whistle blew, and all 25 participants dove into the water, their strokes synchronized with might and enthusiasm. Eva Maria, with her graceful and expert strokes, quickly took the lead, leaving the crowd in awe. Her powerful movements propelled her ahead of the rest, who trailed behind in a determined line.

As the race progressed, a sudden scream pierced the air. One of the swimmers near Eva started to flounder, her desperate cries for help echoing across the water. "Something's tugging me under!" she screamed, panic evident in her voice. Eva's instincts kicked in, and she swam towards the girl, noticing the water around her turning a faint red.

Eva managed to pull the girl to the surface, but her side was bleeding profusely from a deep bite mark. Before Eva could fully comprehend the situation, a dread piranha leaped out of the water, latching onto her hand with razor-sharp teeth. She cried out in pain and let go of the girl, who was instantly swarmed by more piranhas. In a gruesome spectacle, the girl's eyeball floated to the surface, and the water turned a deeper shade of red as more swimmers were attacked.

Panic spread like wildfire. Eva saw limbs, fingers, and ears floating amidst the chaos. She swam swiftly, her heart pounding in her chest, and saw a hand waving frantically for help. She grabbed it, only to realize she was pulling a severed hand with no body attached. Her scream mingled with the desperate cries of the other swimmers.

In his cabin, James Gallagher watched in horror, his stomach churning. He vomited into a trash can, his assistant rushing to offer him water. "What's happening? What should I do?" he shouted in panic, quickly grabbing the phone to call the coast guard for help.

The coast guards arrived swiftly, diving into the treacherous waters to rescue as many people as possible. Despite her injuries, Eva insisted on helping, but the coast guards urged her to stay back. "We don't know what's in there, but it's dangerous and fast," one of them said, his face grim.

Medical services and police swarmed the scene, treating the wounded and questioning witnesses. Eva, still shaken, recounted the horror to the police, while a lady nearby sobbed, clutching her detached hand. "Something razor-sharp and aggressive bit me," she cried, showing her bloody stump.

The police realized this was no ordinary case. They contacted the FBI, detailing the gruesome events. Reports were filed, and regional officers took the evidence to the FBI office for further investigation. The festival, meant to be a celebration of skill and endurance, had turned into a nightmare no one would soon forget.
