Henry asked Serena to explain the situation in detail, and she outlined everything, including the involvement of the piranhas. There was a brief pause on the other end of the line, followed by the sound of papers shuffling. "Piranhas, you say?" Henry's voice shifted to one of concern. "If piranhas are involved, this is more serious than I initially thought. But you should know—piranhas are not native to this area, especially not in such numbers or with such aggression. This isn't natural."
Serena's frown deepened as she processed this information. "Are you suggesting someone might have brought them here intentionally?"
Henry hesitated before responding. "It's a possibility. There are various ways to manipulate their behavior—genetic modification, environmental triggers, even certain chemicals. But without more information, I can only speculate. I need to see the site and examine the remains firsthand."
Serena glanced back at the chaotic scene behind her. "I'll arrange for you to come to Marina Bay immediately. We need answers, and we need them quickly."
Henry agreed, and they set a time for his arrival at the bay. As Serena ended the call, she felt a tight knot of tension in her chest. The situation was growing increasingly complex, and the potential for foul play added a new layer of urgency to the investigation.
Turning to her team, who had been waiting nearby, Serena said, "We're bringing in an expert. I want this area secured and all footage related to the piranhas gathered. We might be dealing with more than just a natural occurrence."
The team nodded in agreement, and Serena took a deep breath, preparing herself for the challenging hours ahead. Six hours later, the sound of a car screeching to a halt interrupted the tense silence. Through the window, they saw a tall man with shiny grey hair walking toward the door. A firm knock followed, and a deep voice called out for Serena.
She opened the door and greeted him. After he settled into an armchair, he looked around the room and asked, "Is this everyone, or are we expecting more people?"
The team confirmed that they were all present, and Serena cut straight to the point. "What did you mean earlier on the phone? What's the solution?"
Henry met her gaze and replied, "I brought with me a document written by my brother. I specialize in marine animals, but my brother focused his research on piranhas. I have a copy of his work on piranha behavior and different types of piranhas." He opened his bag and pulled out a file. On the cover was the name "Felix Carter."
One of Serena's team members remarked that the name sounded familiar. Henry nodded. "Yes, Felix Carter is my brother. He was conducting detailed research on piranhas and was expected to receive a highly prestigious award and the title of Researcher of the Year. However, he suddenly went missing, and I've been unable to contact him. I even filed a report, but to no avail."
