The morning sun streamed through the window, casting a warm glow over the room. Hana stirred, blinking awake to find Mun still sleeping soundly beside her. She watched him for a moment, a soft smile playing on her lips. He looked so peaceful, so different from the determined fighter he was when they were on duty.
Hana carefully slipped out of bed, not wanting to wake him. As she went about her morning routine, that nagging feeling from the night before returned, stronger this time. She paused, a hand on her stomach, and frowned. It wasn’t unusual for her to feel a little off after a tough mission, but this was different.
As she stared at her reflection in the mirror, realization slowly dawned on her. She hadn’t noticed it before, but now that she was paying attention, the signs were there. She hadn’t had much of an appetite lately, feeling queasy at odd times. She hadn’t had her period in weeks. A wave of shock and disbelief washed over her as the possibility settled in.
“No, it can’t be…” she whispered to herself, her voice trembling. She knew that they are a bit, no a lot passionate lately and the possibility is a bit high. And she is positive that they forgot to take precautions not just once.
Hana rushed to the bathroom, her hands shaking as she rummaged through the cabinet. After a few moments, she found what she was looking for—a pregnancy test. The pregnancy test that she purchased a month ago because she also thought that she might be pregnant during that time. Her heart pounded in her chest as she followed the instructions, her hands unsteady. The minutes felt like hours as she waited for the results, each second dragging on endlessly.
When the test finally showed positive, Hana’s breath caught in her throat. She stared at the small plus sign, her mind racing. Pregnant. She is definitely pregnant. And this time it's not a false alarm.
For a long moment, she just sat there, trying to process the news. Her emotions were a whirlwind—shock, fear, disbelief, and underneath it all, a tiny spark of something else…hope. A part of her had always dreamed of having a family, but with the life they led, she had never let herself imagine it could actually happen.
She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. She needed to tell Mun, but how? She couldn’t just blurt it out, could she? Hana’s heart raced as she imagined how he might react.
Would he be happy? Scared? Overwhelmed? She had no idea, but she knew one thing for sure—she couldn’t keep this from him.
Gathering her courage, Hana made her way back to the bedroom. Mun was still asleep, his face peaceful and relaxed. She hesitated for a moment, watching him, before gently shaking his shoulder.
“Mun-ah,” she whispered, her voice trembling slightly. “Wake up.”
Mun stirred, his eyes fluttering open. He smiled sleepily when he saw her, reaching out to pull her closer. “Morning,” he murmured, his voice rough with sleep.
Hana forced a smile, her heart pounding in her chest. “Morning,” she replied, her voice barely audible.
Mun’s smile faded as he noticed the tension in her expression. He sat up, concern flooding his eyes. “Hana-noona, what’s wrong? You look…worried.”
Hana bit her lip, struggling to find the right words. “Mun, I…I need to tell you something.”
Mun’s frown deepened, his hand tightening around hers. “What is it? Whatever it is, you can tell me.”
But Mun's mind has already made lots of scenarios that make his heart ache. The first one on his mind is that his Hana might now realize that she doesn't love him anymore and wanted to break up. What will he do when that happens
Hana took a deep breath, her hands shaking as she held the pregnancy test in front of him. “I’m…Mun, I’m pregnant.”
For a moment, there was only silence. Mun stared at the test, his eyes wide with shock. “You’re…pregnant?” he repeated, as if he couldn’t quite believe it.
Hana nodded, her heart in her throat. “I know it’s a lot to take in. I just…I didn’t expect this, and I’m scared, Mun. What are we going to do?”
Mun was silent for a long moment, his mind racing. Then, slowly, a smile spread across his handsome face. He reached out, cupping Hana’s face in his hands. “Hana,” he whispered, his voice filled with awe. “We’re going to be parents. We're going to be a family, Hana-yah”
Hana blinked, tears welling up in her eyes. “You’re…you’re not scared? You're not angry?”
“Of course I’m scared, but I'm not angry” Mun replied, his voice trembling slightly. “But I’m also…I’m so happy, Hana. This is…this is amazing. You, me and our little baby. Mun carefully touch her tummy with a smile on his face.
Tears spilled over Hana’s cheeks as she let out a shaky laugh. “I can’t believe it,” she whispered. “We’re... we are going to have a baby.”
Mun pulled her into his arms, holding her close. “We’ll figure this out,” he murmured into her hair. “Whatever happens, we’ll get through it together. I promise.”
"I think I'm the one responsible about this," Hana blush "I didn't realize that I forgot to take my pills, with the missions and everything happening. I'm sorry, Mun-ah."
"No, Noona it's not just you... Im usually the one to start...." Mun blushed a lot, "You know.....that ends up doing it all night, so I'm responsible too."
Hana clung to him, her heart overflowing with love and gratitude. In that moment, all her fears melted away, replaced by a deep sense of peace. She didn’t know what the future held, but as long as she had Mun by her side, she knew they could face anything.
