Rin was waiting for Touma at the school entrance and thought about their hangout. It was at this moment when Hanna, Touma's stepsister and the girl who bullied Rin arrived. However, something was different. Hanna had a look of regret on her face and she seemed genuinely remorseful. She then stopped in front of Rin, who looked surprised.
"Rin, I want to say that I'm sorry." Hanna said
"You're sorry, that's laughable." Rin said
"I'm sorry for taking your game and getting you suspended, that wasn't cool. Since Touma and I are stepsiblings, I thought that I was the only one who was allowed to be close to him, but he gave me a stern lecture yesterday. So, from the bottom of my heart, I am truly sorry. I really hope you can forgive me." Hanna said
"Rin, I was also in the wrong. I attacked you and punched you. I'm sorry too. How about we start off as friends?" Rin asked
"Yeah, I'd like that." Hanna said
"Hey, look at my best friend and my stepsister getting along!" Touma bellowed
"Touma!" Rin and Hanna bellowed
"That's my name, don't ware it out." Touma said
"Oh, you big dork." Rin and Hanna said while laughing
"Huh, is there something that I don't know about?" Touma asked in confusion
"Hey, let's get some bubble tea!" Hanna bellowed
"Great idea, Hanna!" Rin bellowed
"Thanks, and I want to learn how to play "Kamen Rider W: Heisei Battle", please teach me!" Hanna bellowed
"Sure, I always carry my gaming handheld on me." Rin said
"Man, this is weird. You two used to hate each other, but now you're best friends." Touma said
"We did not hate each other!" Rin and Hanna bellowed in unison
As they walked to the bubble tea shop, Rin couldn't help but think about how surreal the situation was. Just yesterday, Hanna was the last person she'd want to hang out with, and now they were laughing and joking like they'd been friends for years.
"So, Hanna, what made you change your mind?" Rin asked, curiosity getting the better of her.
Hanna thought for a moment before responding, "I guess I realized that I was being really unfair to you. I mean, I was so caught up in being Touma's stepsister that I thought I was the only one who mattered to him. But after he gave me that lecture, I realized that I was being selfish and petty. And I'm really sorry for that."
Rin nodded, feeling a sense of understanding wash over her. "I get it. I've been there too, where I thought I was the only one who mattered to someone. But in the end, it's not about that. It's about being happy for the people around you, even if they're not necessarily your best friends."
Touma, who had been quietly observing the conversation, chimed in, "Yeah, and it's not like I'm limited to just one person, you know? I've got plenty of room in my heart for all of you."
Rin and Hanna exchanged a look, both of them rolling their eyes good-naturedly. "Oh, Touma," they said in unison, laughing.
As they reached the bubble tea shop, Hanna suggested they get a group picture to commemorate their newfound friendship. Rin and Touma agreed, and they posed for a photo, making silly faces and gestures.
After they finished their drinks, Hanna asked Rin to teach her how to play "Kamen Rider W: Heisei Battle". Rin happily obliged, pulling out her gaming handheld and showing Hanna the ropes.
Touma watched with amusement as the two girls giggled and chatted, completely absorbed in their gaming session. He couldn't believe how far they'd come in just a few hours.
As the sun began to set, Rin suggested they head to the nearby park to watch the stars. Hanna and Touma agreed, and they made their way to the park, laughing and joking along the way.
As they lay down on the grass, gazing up at the starry sky, Rin turned to Hanna and said, "You know, I never thought I'd say this, but I'm really glad we're friends now."
Hanna smiled, her eyes shining with sincerity. "Me too, Rin. Me too."
Touma, who was lying down between them, let out a contented sigh. "This is the life. I've got my best friend and my stepsister, and we're all getting along. What more could I ask for?"
Rin and Hanna exchanged a look, both of them grinning from ear to ear. "Yeah, life is good," they said in unison, laughing.
As they lay there, watching the stars twinkle above them, Rin realized that sometimes, the most unexpected friendships can bring the greatest joy. And she was grateful for that.
The three of them lay there in comfortable silence for a while, enjoying each other's company and the peacefulness of the night.
After a while, Hanna spoke up, "Hey, guys? Can I ask you something?"
"Shoot," Touma said, turning his head to look at her.
"Do you guys want to start a gaming club at school? I think it would be really fun, and we could play all sorts of games together."
Rin's eyes lit up. "That's an amazing idea, Hanna! I'm so in."
Touma nodded, a grin spreading across his face. "Count me in too. It'll be awesome to have a club where we can just hang out and play games all day."
Hanna let out a whoop of excitement, pumping her fist in the air. "Yes! It's going to be so much fun! We can call it the 'Game On' club!"
Rin and Touma laughed, high-fiving each other in excitement. As they lay there, planning their new club, Rin knew that this was just the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
And as they walked back to the school entrance, arms around each other's shoulders, Rin couldn't help but think that sometimes, the most unexpected events can lead to the most amazing outcomes.
