Kash stood up from his armchair as he heard the limo arrive. He walked over to the door in the large dining room he was currently in and began walking towards the entrance of the manor. It had been eight years of sharing custody with his son's mother. Roman was fourteen now, old enough to start helping in the field and to training. He opened the main front entrance doors after checking his watch. Roman was in the front seat of the limo looking over to his father with curiosity and excitement as he saw him open the doors to the manor. "Happy birthday son." Kash spoke loudly to Roman waving at him. Roman's eyes widened as he spotted his father opening the front doors for him. He quickly got out of the limo and ran up to his father and hugged him tightly. "How was it at your moms?" Kash asked curiously impressed to see how much his son has grown after staying with his mother for the last four years traveling with her on business trips. Before Kash was a teenage boy a spitting image of himself. "It was good...but i kind of missed you- mom was always so busy traveling so i was just stuck at home for like most of the time." Roman replied softly looking up at his father. "What did you do the whole time-?" Kash stated with a look of concern helping get Romans bags from the limo. Roman thought for a moment before replying to his father. "I mostly just stayed indoors watching videos and playing my video games...sometimes i would go out and fly around a bit but..never for an extended period of time.." the boy replied softly. "Guess your mother hates you flyin huh?" Kash laughed a bit as he walked inside with Roman. Roman nodded his head in shame as Kash asked this question. "Yes...she does..she just thinks I'm being dangerous whenever I fly around.." he replied in a small quiet tone as he followed behind Kash. "Like i said before- she is crazy-" Kash sighed as they walked down the halls into the main area where Von was. Von sat in his main chair in front of the fireplace drinking slowly at a glass of brandy smoking a cigar. "Boss. My son has arrived." Kash spoke calmly. Von looked up from his chair turning his head slightly to face Kash as he spoke. He took a sip of his brandy and nodded to Kash as a welcoming gesture. "Of course, he has- I was expecting him to arrive this morning." von replied in his usual cold tone. Kash then gestured Roman to go to Von while he carried his luggage to their room. Roman walked over to Von and approached him slowly looking up to the man as he glanced at him. "Hello grandpa..it's nice to see you again after so long... I'm sorry for not calling or visiting." he said politely. "That is quite fine i already know it is risky to contact me with Captain Stinger still about in action. I heard it is your birthday son, come sit-" Von gestured for Roman to take a seat. Roman nodded his head before taking a seat next to Von and looking down at the ground. "Yes it is my birthday- thank you for remembering it." he replied softly looking down at the ground with his hands folded in his lap. "You know what my father did for me when i turned fourteen...?" Von asked slowly taking a drag from his cigar. Roman shook his head no looking up at Von. "No...but I'm curious to know. What did he do for you?" Von then leaned forward gesturing the cigar to Roman. "Go on boy, have a taste-" Von nodded to the kid. Roman then nodded his head yes and took the cigar from him and took a quick sniff of it. "What will this do?" he asked after taking the cigar from him. "You do not have to inhale no worries. Place it to your lips a moment then taste-" Von instructed watching at Roman. Roman placed the cigar on the edge of his lips and held in his mouth for a minute before taking it out and tasting it. "It tastes pretty good- what is it?" he replied in a soft tone. "That son is a real Cuban cigar." Von took it back before gesturing his glass of Brandy at Roman. "Only a sip though, your practically a young man. I think your old enough to start missions..." Von nodded to himself. Roman nodded and took the glass of brandy and took a small sip of it only to make a disgusted facial reaction. He then put the glass back down before speaking. "Is it really a mission? Because that would be pretty cool to do." he said excitedly with a big grin on his face. "You really want a mission that badly- i could always send you with Nathaniel..." Von wondered as Kash returned giving a stern protective glare. "I would rather he focused on his studies-" Kash spoke up. "I want to be able to actually be a villain! I've been bored out of my mind sitting at home doing nothing- what kind of life is that?" Roman shouted back at his father while looking straight at him. Kash stared stunned and conflicted as he got a flashback of his own self when Von first met him at thirteen. He could remember every moment from that day when he lost his parents to neglectful hero's pretending to do their jobs. The whole drive for him to become the Hero killer Screech. "Is this really what you want." Kash questioned a moment. Roman nodded his head fiercely looking up at his father and smiling with excitement in his eyes. "Yes, yes it is! I can't stay here for much longer- just sitting around and doing nothing productive- it makes me feel like I'm useless and will stay useless." he explained softly but firmly. He looked at his son with a glint of pride and agitation at the same time over the audacity for his son to raise his voice let alone to speak with such attitude. It was bold and Kash couldn't help but feel some admiration. "The we will start training." Kash spoke with authority crossing his arms flashing a smile. Roman's face lit up with pure excitement and joy as he heard the news of him actually being able to train for the real world. He began grinning and bouncing in his seat at the news and he couldn't help it but feel happy. "Now shall we head to the dining room where the others are for your birthday festivities-?" Kash asked grinning. Roman nodded his head quickly and his grin only widened as he got up from his seat and began to follow behind Kash for the dinner party. as they entered the dining room the festivities went on with others talking and socializing as Kash went to his seat at the head of the table. Roman could see his grandfather von standing by the fireplace smoking with a glass of brandy. The other guests who were there were Nathaniel, Kaden, and even joseph. Kash then stiffened up when he saw Von with an envelope similar to the one, he was given when he first met Von. He knew that was Romans first assignment. Roman immediately began looking at the envelope in Von's hands and feeling nervous and excited at the same time. It would be his first official solo mission if he were to complete this. Kash watched concerned. "You're sending him to the children super hospital... Von-" Kash questioned nervously. Von didn't respond to Kash as he looked at roman while holding the sealed envelope in his hands. "Yes Kash- it is my way of testing his abilities." von replied calmly. "Can he even handle Task force 52 on his own, I know they aren't super abled, but those guys are no joke, Adam legacy specifically-" Kash stated concerned. Von then took another drag of his cigar before replying to Kash with a smile. "Don't worry Kash- he is more than capable of handling those soldiers on his own. I believe he can handle Adam himself as well. Your son has so much potential that he could most likely surpass me someday...besides i will be keeping a close eye on his progress and actions." "At least allow me to accompany my son..." Kash requested. Von remained silent for a moment before responding. "Hm..I suppose you can. He may need your guidance for this mission." von finally agreed. Kash then relaxed a bit looking to Roman taking the file to have a look himself. "Extraction mission-? What do we need this one for-?" Kash held up the photo of a child super with silver hair and yellow eyes. "Boss we have no use for some foreign French kid-" Von continued smoking his cigar before speaking calmly with a cold tone. "This child has powers that we would like to use for our own purposes." von stated plainly. "Fue Garnier... says he's called butane- You sure a kid with flame breath is wise?" Kash asked curiously. "It is a simple mission- he is no threat to us. The child cannot control his powers fully and we plan on using that to our advantage." von stated before taking another drag of his cigar. "Sounds good to me then." Kash then looked to Roman. "We leave in twenty son. Go ahead and get geared up Kaden will help you." Roman nodded his head and smiled brightly before saluting his father and quickly jogging out of the room. Within a few minutes he had fully geared himself up and was ready to leave on his first ever solo mission. Roman then followed Kaden down the hallways of the mansion into an equipment room pausing in awe at his father's older suit. "Whoa..." Roman mumbled a moment to himself. Kaden chuckled as he smiled at roman's reaction. "It's pretty good right?" he asked as he looked at the old suit and began walking over to it. "It's one of Kash's older suits from when he first started out in the business...he even used this in his fight against Captain stinger." Kaden explained to Roman the history behind the suit. Roman listened intently to every word as he stepped down the line of displayed suits pausing at a cream-colored suit lined with golds and silver accents not recognizing it at all as it was Vons older suit from his youth when he was Fallion full time. Kaden followed his gaze as he saw where roman had stopped and nodded his head in understanding as he knew exactly what suit this was. It was the old suit that von used to have before he started using his current one when he was in the prime of his villain career during Fallion. "This one-" Roman questioned looking to Kaden. Kaden smiled and nodded to roman. "That was Von's old suit that he used when he was full time as Fallion- he did use it during his fight with Cosmin Borne but he hasn't used it since." Kaden explained. "Why doesn't grandpa talk about it... Never heard of Cosmin borne-" Roman asked wanting to learn more. Kaden chuckled at the question Roman asked as he explained further. "Cosmin Borne was the former leader of the league of heroes back when Von started out as a career as Fallion. He was also a very powerful super and they did battle against each other which eventually caused him to retreat and become the anti-hero killer after his defeat because he realized he was on the wrong side of the spectrum. As for why grandpa hasn't spoken about if. He's old now and maybe doesn't want to talk about those memories anymore." "Bullshit..." Nathaniel piped in walking into the room. "Don't you read anything Kaden... God- Cosmin Borne was a false hero he started the trend of heroes doing whatever they wanted... Von our amazing leader wiped him out- Sadly Cosmin was Stinger's teacher..." Nathaniel spat as Roman listened in awe. Kaden turned instantly to Nathaniel as a slight twinge of annoyance rose in his voice. "I'm sorry I did not know that..i haven't read anything regarding this information as i am sure you know I am not very well educated in the history of Fallion as i was born much later afterwards." Kaden retorted as he sighed sharply. "Now stop scaring the kid with this stuff- Come on i got a suit for ya-" Nathaniel hummed as he dragged Roman away from the display cabinets over to the work bench showing a suit with similar elements to his fathers with its own unique flair and design. Roman followed Nathaniel over to the work bench as he curiously looked to the suit that he brought over for him. It looked incredible and he couldn't help but feel a bit excited at the way it looked. Roman stood still as he let Nathaniel and Kaden help him with the suit adjustments as he looked up when Kash entered the room. He smiled brightly at him and nodded in reverence before waiting to be told what to do next. Kash walked over and glanced down at his son impressed. "Nice suit..." he nodded softly before stepping to the display cabinets pulling his most recent one out. Roman nodded his head in appreciation to the compliment as he saw his father's most recent suit that he used against Tony Bramble. Kash then paused a moment when Roman was staring at a photo in a frame. The old hero league, The same one Fallion fought and killed to try and purify the hero league properly from the false heroes before Cosmin's legacy continued in Stinger. Roman noticed the frame containing the photo of the older hero league and couldn't help but seem fascinated at the photo. He walked over to it and looked closely at every single hero that was present within it. "They all were cruel... Criminals..." Kash stepped over beside his son admiring the photo. Cosmin Borne a hero who could fabricate glass energy stars with just his palms, Galivant who was a master with sorcery, Injecta captain stingers mother where he got his powers from, BRINK a woman of super strength, and zipline a hero who could manipulate orange lightning. Roman continued to look at the photo as he listened to Kash explain each of the heroes in great detail. Each one had some amazing powers and the photo itself was almost mesmerizing in a way. "They look cool... but Von took them all out for reasons. They committed crimes and we sought to purify the hero league and take back over." Kash explained calmly. Roman nodded his head before speaking with some amazement. "So, they committed crimes and caused a bad name for the true heroes?" Roman asked curiously as he looked over the photo and the heroes that were in it again in awe. "Correct they also encouraged and started the trend of heroes doing as they please hiding it under the rug." Kash stated. Roman nodded his head in understanding as he looked back at the heroes in the photo, now having a different outlook on each and every single one of them compared to when he first stepped foot into the room. He looked again to Kash with admiration in his eyes. Kash sighed softly as stepped away from Roman to give him time to get into his new suit. Roman watched as Kash walked away from him as he got changed into his new suit. After a few minutes he finished getting changed and walked over to where Kash stood. He looked a bit nervous as he felt the tight pressure of the suit around his body as he couldn't help but feel a bit insecure about how he looked in it but he tried to shake it off as he looked to Kash for approval. Kash stepped to him a moment. "I see Nathaniel went with copper and black so that your suit would be personalized and unique-" he nodded in approval helping fasten armored copper plates. "There..." He nodded. Roman nodded his head in confirmation as he felt Kash assist him in fastening the armored copper plates. He smiled brightly at him as he looked again at the suit and took a deep breath. The suit felt tight and a little cramped on him, but he tried his best not to show it as he didn't want to feel insecure around his father. "You will have to break into it... I remember my first suit like it was yesterday. Come now." Kash nodded heading for the flight balcony as Nathaniel ran to us shouting that he is coming with Aswell. Roman nodded his head in understanding and quickly followed to his father and Nathaniel. He had to remember that the suit would feel a tad bit awkward and stiff at first but eventually it will have to break in. Kash calmly stepped to the flight spot opening his wings as Nathaniel did. "Now son do you have your own alias name chosen when out on a mission i go by screech for example, Nate goes by Pidge-" Roman thought for a moment before speaking. "I was thinking.... I could maybe be called.... Red wing?" He proposed his name idea trying to think of something that would fit with the color and the copperish colored armor that was covering his body. He had thought long and hard about a name that would fit himself and his suit and he hoped his father and Nate would approve of the idea. "Red wing hmm... What do you think Pidge?" Kash looked to Nathaniel. Nathaniel chuckled as he thought for a moment. "I think it suits him- his suit does have red wings and those copper-colored armor plates do fit well with it as red really does pop out with that color." Nathaniel explained with a smile as he nodded his head in approval. "Red wing it is then, keep up-" Kash laughed before taking off into flight first with Nathaniel right behind for Roman to follow. Roman nodded his head in approval as he took off right after his father and Nathaniel quickly following. The feeling of the suit seemed to have increased as he felt the tight pressure all over his body and the tightness made it a bit hard to move at first however he tried his best not to let the suit stop him and he began looking at his own wings as he watched the scenery below him fly by at rapid speeds. His father lead ahead as they soared over Cryotion utilizing the clouds to remain hidden when Kash raised his fist for them to pause his wings flapping hard against the wind. "Pidge- were not alone up here-" Kash warned using code names already as a fast-speeding force was flying our direction. It was one of the current hero league members who often work for stinger... Bitz the dragonfly hero... Roman saw the figure flying out in front of them and he tried to stay calm as they came to a stop. his heart started to beat a little faster than it had previously felt as he tried his best to stay calm. He couldn't help but feel a slight bit afraid of what would happen next however he tried to shake off the emotions he had at the moment and focus on the task as hand as he looked to Kash. "Back off Bitz- you do not want this fight-" Kash hissed with venom as a warning. Roman was amazed at how his father talked to the other hero as he felt his stomach tighten with anxiety. He couldn't help but feel that something bad was going to happen and he was hoping that nothing would go wrong in this current situation. He didn't want to feel scared however he couldn't deny that he was starting to feel that way and he didn't want to admit it to his father. Kash huffed glaring at Bitz. "Scram boy-" Kash threatened serious. Roman kept silent as he saw his father glares and threatening the other super. He was starting to feel an overwhelming sense of fear but he didn't want to let his father or Nathaniel know how he was feeling so as it would make him appear to be weak and he didn't want that. Kash started to inhale cocking his head a bit letting out a loud screech into Bitz lunging forward throwing an uppercut. Roman froze with fear as he watched his father take action against the other super. He felt his heart beating very quickly as he was afraid for his father in this situation. He wanted to help however he felt as if he would just get in the way so he just stayed silent and watched the fight. "Son grab his wings-" Kash snapped as i was in a close combat sky fight with Bitz as Nathaniel just hovered with my arms crossed not worried one-bit grinning gesturing roman to get in there. Roman snapped out of his frozen state of fear as he quickly looked at his father. "His wings?" Roman asked out of disbelief as he tried to wrap his mind around the fact that he had to get in the middle of this fight. He was not at all a fighter and he didn't know if he could hold his own against this other hero however he couldn't let his father handle this alone. He took a deep breath as he looked to Kash and nodded. Kash grunted as his fists collided with Bitz as his wings buzzed flapping rapidly as Kashs wings thumped against the air flapping heavily. "Anytime son!" Kash snapped getting irritated. Roman took one more deep breath before flying towards Bitz flying to the sides of Bitz. He took one last deep breath before grabbing a hold of Bitz's wings trying his best to restrain them so he could not fly away. "What the fuck kid- LET GO- NO NO- WAIT-" Bitz started freaking out dangling a bit in the air from Romans hands as Kash flew over. "Son this is Bitz... the Dragon fly hero from the current league... he has killed countless of his ex girlfriends out of petty reasonings and is a murderer of civilians without powers..." Kash spoke coldly. Roman felt his chest start to tighten with fear and anxiety as Kash went on to describe the other hero in great detail. His mind started to race with the thought of all the innocent lives that he took. He was beginning to doubt if he could hold out for much longer while holding the other hero down. He tightened his grip on the other wings holding back his screams of fear from what might come next. "Me and Pidge can handle him if you aren't ready. Von needs us to purify the Hero league... Which means- We have to..." Kash tried to explain to him as Bitz freaked out shouting. "DAMN IT- NO- LET ME GO- YOU CAN'T DO THIS-" Roman gritted his teeth as he started to feel Bitz' wings trying to break free as he struggled to hold them in place. He tried to not let his fear of the situation take over him, but he felt his breathing increase and he had to fight through the fear of letting go and letting Bitz potentially harm his father or Nathaniel. "You don't have to get your hands dirty son me and pidge can take it..." Kash asked concerned. Roman took a deep breath as he looked to Kash who seemed concerned for him in this situation. He took a quick glance at Nathaniel and then to his father before speaking. "I got this- let's just get this thing over with..." He was still nervous however he just went along with the feeling in hopes of not showing any signs of fear as he watched Bitz struggle to break free of his grip as he continued to tighten his grip. "GO for cinematic!!" Nathaniel chanted as his wings flapped hovering with them in the clouds. "RIP those pretty wings off and drop him since he likes to do it to others-" Nathaniel spat proudly as Kash rubbed his temples. "Let him choose himself-" Roman nodded his head in understanding as he finally snapped. He felt the emotions of fear wash away and now he was starting to feel some kind of anger as his grip on the other heroes' wings tightened, and he began to pull hard. He felt his breath start to slow slightly as his heart rate increased slightly with each tug he was doing to the other hero's wings. Kash watched beside Nathaniel. "Five bucks says he chickens out-" Nathaniel snickered whispering to Kash only making his eye twitch with his brows furrowing focused watching Roman. Roman glared at Nathaniel as he heard his remarks as he took a deep breath in and out letting it out slowly. He tightened his grip even more on the other heroes' wings as he pulled harder without letting him get away. He couldn't see himself backing down at this current moment as the emotions of anger were starting to take over the fear that he had inside of him. Bitz grunted and growled kicking his legs yelling insults now. "What was that lame name you choose- kid- Red wing... What a dork- t-t-tch- betcha balls haven't even dropped- G-g-o home kid-" Bitz scoffed laughing arrogantly through his pain. Roman didn't respond to the insults as it only served to anger him even more than he already was as his grip only tightened more around the other heroes' wings as he pulled on them with all his power in an attempt to not feel insecure about the insults and his name. "H-hah- ahaha- Y-your just a kid-" Bitz laughed again before getting eye wide when Roman used his first sonic boom shout blast Bitz down his wings tearing off spiraling to the city below crunching to his death leaving Nathaniel eye wide and jaw dropped slowly clapping. "B-bravo..." Nathaniel blinked rapidly as Kash stared a tad shocked himself. Roman stood there as his heart beating in his ears as his breathing was a little fast. He was feeling all types of emotions as he felt the adrenaline rush in his body. His mind and heart was racing with emotions as he couldn't even process what had just happened. He heard Nathaniel clap from beside him as he also watched the other hero hit the ground with a loud crunch leaving Kash with eyes wide and slightly shocked himself. Kash flew over beside Roman looking down before hugging Roman to himself. "You did good son..." Kash sighed deeply. Roman let out a sigh of relief feeling his father's arms around him making him feel more at ease as his heart was still beating rapidly. "I-im sorry for what I-i just did..." He was starting to feel bad for what he had just done to the other hero as he felt his hands start to shake a little bit as the adrenaline was still rushing through his body. "I thought it was awesome-" Nathaniel piped in. "You just helped Von and us get closer to the bigger goal." Nataniel stated as Kash nodded in agreement. "Let's get going to the Super hospital... Von believes this kid is pure still so if we can get to him before stinger, he can be used for project hero league reboot... pure heroes the way it was meant to be so i can fucking retire-" Kash sighed softly. Roman was starting to feel more at ease as he still felt his father's arms around him as his breath was still a little fast however it was beginning to slow down slightly as he heard Nathaniel's point and what his father said afterwards. He now felt the need to help save another hero like he had just done even if that meant possibly having to kill another evil hero/villain in the future. He nodded his head in understanding and agreement with his father. Kash let go of his son softly as they returned to their route. "Son... There is a man we may run into- His name is Adam legacy, Code name Lost legacy, you see him, or his task force Do not harm them, they have no powers. We do not fight citizens especially the military. Cosmin borne... he killed Adams wife and child back in the day, so he sort of resents powers and mutants." "I understand what you are asking from me father- I-i will ensure that if I do see him or his task force that I will not harm them..." Roman assured his father before he got a little silent. "They work hard... Good men too. Stong men- For non-supers. You see them hide your wings if you can and if it isn't an option just flee." Kash instructed as the three landed at the Hospital. Roman nodded his head understanding that in the event that he does see them he will have to hide his wings if he can. He hadn't really fully processed the fact that he just killed another hero however his father and Nathaniel were already making it seem like everything was okay...was everything really as okay as it appeared?? Kash looked about leading the way through the doors and halls. "Which room is it Pidge..." Kash asked at Nathaniel. Nathaniel tilted his head as he looked up for a moment with a frown on his face as he looked up at the ceiling thinking. "I believe room thirty-eight sir..." he spoke after he looked back down towards Kash. "Roman... This is where you come in- Fue is about your age... I need you to talk to him." Kash instructed with a calm approach before pausing at the room. Roman felt the adrenaline in his body start to slow down as he took a deep breath in and out as he was about to get off the elevator and enter the room. He looked over towards Kash and nodded his head in understanding before following his instructions and walking over to the door to enter the room. Kash stayed beside Nathaniel outside while Roman entered the room. Fue sat in a corner writing away at a piece of paper with a pen. Roman walked inside the room slowly stepping forward and letting the door shut behind him as he looked at Fue sat in the corner. He saw Fue writing away at a piece of paper and he began to walk closer and closer to Fue. "Qui êtes vous..." Fue mumbled when he noticed Roman. "My name is roman- I am a citizen- may I ask you a question?" Roman responded to Fue as he continued to walk closer to him. "Listen... I can see those wings..." Fue cut the chase speaking English annoyed. "I see you are perceptive and able to recognize things quickly- yes- it is clear what I am." Roman replied back in English as he continued to walk slower towards Fue as he felt like he needed to speak to him. "What do you want..." Fue asked stiffening. "I-I need to ask you a question- if you don't mind- I-I know you are a pure hero and I had a question if that's okay?" Roman finally stopped moving when he was only three feet away from Fue looking at him with a curious expression. "vraiment.." Fue nodded for him to continue. Roman took a deep breath looking at fue with a serious expression before he started to speak. "I-is it true you are a pure hero...?" Roman asked feeling nervous and unsure about asking the question. "Oui.. I haven't committed crimes if you mean that... Odd question... Why did you ask that- Is something wrong...?" Fue asked suspicious clearly ignorant to what the current hero league has done. "U-um no! Nothing's wrong- I just- I had heard that you were pure and I just wanted to confirm that was all." Roman tried to sound reassuring to Fue as he felt himself feeling nervous with his voice starting to shake slightly with the words he was saying. Kash sighed stepping into the room causing Fue to glare confused. "Son your stalling... Right- The hero league is corrupted. Von the former hero Fallion wishes to have you as a pupil... To help reform the Hero league." Kash spoke sternly yet calm. Roman jumped slightly as he heard Kash's voice as he turned around to see him step into the room. Upon hearing Kash's last statement he felt a little shocked and surprised as he turned around to look back at Fue once more. "Really- Von fallion wants me as his pupil...that's what he wants?" Fue mumbled. "Correct." Kash nodded putting his hand out at Fue. "So Butane. Will you accompany us?" Kash asked curiously. Fue looked at kash's offered hand for a few minutes as he seemed conflicted by the situation. He kept looking over to roman and back at kash as he seemed unsure of what decision he wanted to make. He was debating whether or not it would be okay to go with them and to help out the hero league in the hopes that it would return it back to what it used to be instead of what it has become as he seemed to be deep in thought. "Once it is all over. You get to live like a teenager course but cryotion would be safe. You would be. Real pure heroes would be protecting Cryotion the way it was meant to be." Kash nodded patiently. Fue was still conflicted for a few minutes before he finally spoke. "If you can get cryotion back to where it was before then- I will go with you..." Fue said calmly yet firmly while looking right at Kash with his head now looking up towards him rather than looking down away from him. "You have my word." Kash grinned as Fue shook his hand. "Come now boys- Let's get out of here." Kash stepped outside to Nathaniel nervous sweating held against a wall afraid to move with Adam Legacy holding him against the wall. "Lost Legacy..." Kash spoke coldly.
