Everyone put their head down in panic. They were expecting more shots to be fired at each of them but they never came. The gunfire was over. The devastation they had caused was still yet to be discovered.
Siobhan had shot Roger from across the room. She had surprisingly good aim and had shot him straight through the head. “Attacking a woman, act of good citizens.” Siobhan said emotionlessly, “I have been waiting for this moment.” Roger had taught her how to shoot, he could have never predicted she would be brave enough to use that knowledge against him.
She ran over to the chest of drawers which contained her gun when Sorscha let her go. Roger had noticed this. That was why he felt confident enough to confess to killing Clodagh. He thought Siobhan would shoot her for him. Oh he couldn't have been more mistaken.
Roger had died almost immediately, Siobhan had shot him perfectly. She no longer had to fear the man who was supposed to love her. He never cared about her. He just saw her as arm candy he could manipulate. He had taken a beautiful broken girl and further smashed her spirit to pieces. She didn't have to be scared anymore.
Created in hell
His blood made of fire
Unable to love
And fueled by desireHe met his match
Not immune to gods laws
But it wasn't Sorscha
His own girlfriend the causeSiobhan strutted across the room to where Sorscha was standing frozen, she picked up the gun and was now pointing them both at her. “Sit in that chair and don't move.” Siobhan demanded, “You will stay there until Viv arrives or you'll be shot too.” Sorscha had Roger's blood splattered across her face, he had been inches away from her as he was shot. If Siobhan wasn't so well trained in firearms it could have easily been her that was shot.
Sorscha did as Siobhan was told and sat in Roger's armchair, she had the guns pointed at her still. Siobhan no longer thought she was dangerous but she was clearly very capable. She wasn't gonna let anyone else get hurt.
It was then, when Sorscha wasn't a threat, that everyone finally realised who else had been shot. Both of the Knight siblings, Reece and Autumn, both were clinging to gunshot wounds. Autumn had been shot in the shoulder, her injury wasn't too bad but she was still huddled on the floor in pain. She had staggered back from Sorscha when the gunshots had fired. Winter had noticed her injury immediately and raced over to her.
Reece was shot because as soon as he saw Autumn approaching Sorscha he instinctively put Marjorie behind him, he didn't know how this interaction was going to go and all he wanted was to keep the love of his life safe. Reece was hit by the second bullet. He had used himself as a human shield to protect Marjorie. His injury was much more severe, the bullet had gone straight into his stomach.
“Eric, be brave and call for an ambulance.” Siobhan ordered, “Mia, call for Vivian.” They both listened to what Siobhan told them to do. She was in full control of this situation, everyone else was in a state of shock so Siobhan taking the lead was very needed.
Marjorie and Winter were both desperately trying to help their partners. Autumn seemed to be okay despite the obvious, her injury wasn't too bad. However, Marjorie was slowly watching the life drain out of the man she loved. He was crashing, and fast.
Deliah knew exactly what to do. She raced to the bathroom and grabbed two towels. She quickly came back to the living room and threw one of the towels at Winter, “Straight onto the wound, apply as much pressure as you can. Autumn it will hurt but Winter needs to stem the bleeding.” Winter nodded in agreement and did exactly what she said. Autumn cried out in pain and grabbed onto Winter's shoulder to steady herself. Winter looked at her concerned. “It's okay my sweet, carry on. I am okay.” Autumn said as tears streamed down her face.
Deliah then approached Reece and Marjorie. Marjorie was screaming and crying and Reece was just cupping her face and telling her everything was going to be okay. “Marjorie, move to the side so I can check Reece, please.” Deliah said softly. Marjorie didn't want to move, she didn't want to leave Reece but she knew that he needed help and fast. “I will be okay darling, let Deliah try and help me.” Reece said as he planted a kiss on Marjorie’s forehead.
Marjorie moved to the side and immediately Deliah sat in front of Reece and prepared the towel, “Take a deep breath when you're ready Reecey.” She watched him take a deep breath and looked at him, he nodded. Immediately Deliah put the towel to the wound on his stomach and began applying pressure. He grunted in response, he wanted to yell out but he didn't want to scare Marjorie. He immediately reached his hand out to grab onto Marjorie’s and squeezed it tightly. Marjorie watched in horror as the white towel began to turn red.
“Ambulance is on its way!” Eric shouted frantically as he rushed back into the room. His eyes darted around in horror as he realised the severity of this situation. Siobhan looked over and watched him start to go faint. “Eric, it's okay. Go and sit in the kitchen. You don't have to stay in this room.” Siobhan said compassionately, she couldn't imagine how scary must be for him. After all, he was only 17. Eric did as she said and went to the kitchen, he was so scared.
Mia soon entered the room again, “Viv will be here in a minute. She practically ran to her car when I mentioned it was your house Siobhan. She really cares about you.” This wasn't in her usual teasing tone, this was one full of care. She knew how scared Siobhan must be deep down. Despite how tough she was acting, pointing those guns at Sorscha, Mia knew that all she probably wanted was to be held by the woman she loves. “Thankyou Mia, please check on Eric. He is in the kitchen, very scared.” Siobhan responded. Mia listened to Siobhan and left the room to check on Eric.
Autumn was still having pressure applied to her wound by Winter. It seemed to be working, the blood had stopped spreading as much onto the towel. “My love, I'm so proud of you” Winter said reassuringly “I'm more proud of you my sweet, you are doing so well.” Autumn replied with a smile. She was so comforted in this moment, despite all the pain she was feeling, she knew she had picked the right man to fall in love with.
On the other hand, Reece was decreasing rapidly. He knew he couldn't hang on for the ambulance to arrive but he didn't want to admit that to Marjorie. The towel that was to his wound just continued to be tainted with blood, Deliah was trying her best to control the bleeding. It wasn't working. He was losing too much blood. He wasn't going to hang on like this.
Reece looked into Marjorie's eyes “Darling, I am so sorry. I tried my best to stay strong for you, but I can't do this anymore.” He said breathlessly, he had accepted his fate. Marjorie started screaming “YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME!” repeatedly. That was until Reece reached his hand up and caressed her cheek, “Don't worry about me anymore Marjorie, you have to carry on after this promise? You are going to make me so proud.”
Marjorie, with tears streaming down her face, kissed Reece one last time. He wiped the tears out of her eyes and she shuffled closer so he could rest his head on her chest. Deliah stopped applying pressure and stepped away from them both. She wanted to let them enjoy their last moment together. “I love you Reece.” Marjorie choked out through a sob. “I will love you forever Marjorie.”
The fatal mistake
A death by surprise
This all went too far
And now reecey diesIt was supposed to be different
A lesson to them all
But now an innocent victim
So sorscha must fall.Authors note - Poem credits to Partofthecribs x
