🎀/ Better POV: She/her Pronoun's !! - 📖 Josh Comic based personality | short story
Y/N had always been the quiet girl in the group, the one who preferred to observe from the shadows rather than be the center of attention. That hadn't changed since she joined Bill, Pete, and Josh. The four of them had a complicated dynamic, with Josh always being the hardest to handle. His rudeness towards girls was well-known, and Y/N was no exception. She often found herself on the receiving end of his sarcastic and cruel comments, which only intensified the strange attraction she felt for him.
Y/N: (Thoughts) It makes no sense... He's rude, unfair, and makes me feel so small. But there's something about him... something I can't ignore.
The group usually spent their weekends at Bill's house, playing video games and arguing about comics. Y/N would sit quietly, watching Josh from across the room. Despite how cruel he could be, there were moments when Y/N caught a different look in his eyes, something darker, deeper, that intrigued her.
That night, the air was thick with tension. Josh had had a particularly intense fight with Bill and was in a foul mood. He dropped onto the couch next to Y/N, his expression hardened, as if he was about to explode at any moment.
Josh: (Grumbling, without looking at her) What are you staring at, Y/N? Expecting me to talk to you or something? Don't bother.
Y/N looked down, feeling a knot in her stomach. The way he treated her always made her feel vulnerable, but at the same time, it filled her with a kind of expectation she didn't quite understand.
Y/N: (Thoughts) He'll never be kind to me... But still, something in his rejection makes me wish he would be... just for a second. It makes me want more, even though I know I won't get it.
That night, after everyone had gone to bed, Y/N couldn't sleep. Her thoughts kept revolving around Josh, his behavior, what he might be hiding behind that aggressive facade. She got out of bed, feeling a need she couldn't explain, and walked to the living room where she found him sitting on the couch, staring into space.
Josh: (Without looking up) What are you doing up? I'm not in the mood for company.
His voice was cold, but Y/N sensed something else in it, a tension that made her pause. It wasn't just aggression there; there was something deeper, something he wasn't willing to show.
Y/N: (In a low voice) I couldn't sleep... Thought maybe you couldn't either.
He laughed, a low, sarcastic sound that sent a shiver down her spine.
Josh: So what? You're here to comfort me? Spare me, Y/N. I don't need the hassle.
But instead of leaving, Y/N sat at the other end of the couch, not knowing why. There was a part of her that couldn't resist being close to him, even if it was just to feel a little more alive, to feel that something beyond the daily monotony could affect her heart.
Josh glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, his dark eyes assessing her. There was something in the way he looked at her that made her feel exposed, as if he could see through all her insecurities and desires.
Josh: (With a crooked smile) You know you're playing with fire, right? I'm not someone you want to mess with.
Y/N felt a chill run down her spine, but she didn't move. She knew what he said was true, but that only intensified her desire to understand him, to get to the bottom of what made him the way he was.
Y/N: (Whispering) Maybe... but that doesn't stop me from wanting to know more.
Josh leaned towards her, his gaze dangerous. For a moment, Y/N thought he was going to say something cruel, something that would push her away for good. But instead, he remained silent, as if he didn't know what to say.
Minutes passed in silence, the tension between them growing until it was almost palpable. Y/N knew she was walking a tightrope, but she couldn't stop. Her mind was full of fantasies, of thoughts that scared her but also excited her. She wondered what would happen if he moved a little closer, if he touched her, if they finally crossed that line they had both been avoiding.
But instead of acting, Y/N stayed silent, lost in her own thoughts. Josh, for his part, seemed to be struggling with his own demons, his hands clenched into fists as he tried to keep control.
Finally, he stood up, breaking the spell that had fallen over them.
Josh: (In a low voice, with a note of exhaustion) Go to bed, Y/N. Nothing good can come from this.
Y/N watched him leave, feeling an emptiness in her chest. She knew that what was between them was complicated, twisted even, but she couldn't help wanting more. Even if it was only in her thoughts, in her fantasies.
Y/N: (Thoughts) This isn't healthy, I know... but I can't stop thinking about him. I can't stop wanting more, even though I know he'll never be mine.
And so the night ended, leaving Y/N with her unfulfilled desires and a sense of longing that only grew stronger with each passing day.
