My alarm off my phone loudly blares at 4 a.m. Why? We (Lucca, Axel and myself) are flying out later this morning to Milan, Italy! We need to be at the airport by 5:30 a.m., giving us an hour and a half to get dressed, stop to grab some breakfast at a fast food place, arrive at the airport, go through security, and board the plane. Da and Papa are driving us to the airport, so we don't have to leave my vehicle in the parking lot of the airport, and pay for the time that the SUV will be there - a week in total. Our bags have been packed for the last two days, and are already loaded in the back of Papa's SUV since last night before the three of us went to bed.
"Babe, it's time to wake up, love," I groggily tell Axel, gently nudging his shoulder with my hand, and he wakes up, wiping the sleep from his eyes as we both sit up, and I silence my alarms.
Leaning over, I give him a kiss on the cheek in greeting, and he sleepily returns the gesture before we climb from the bed, to throw on comfy clothes for the flight. We've both dressed in a pair of black sweats, black socks, our tennis shoes, and black sweatshirts, and we're gonna dress Lucca in the same manner. We're gonna be as comfy as possible on our almost seventeen hour flight, and thankfully Lucca's gonna sleep some of the time because this is too early for him to be up before having a small nap.
I don't even bother waking Lucca right now to get him dressed, just deciding to leave him in his comfy jammies, and I wake him to eat some breakfast. Axel carries him out to the SUV, buckles him in his car seat, and the five of us are off to grab breakfast. Arriving at the airport, Papa parks in a parking spot, and we climb out, grabbing our three bags from the back, and walk into the airport. When we reach the security check, Axel and I turn to Papa and Da, and Lucca is awake enough to tell them bye as do Axel and me before they leave us for home, and I place our bags on the moving belt to be scanned, and we walk through the metal detector after slipping off our shoes when it's our turn.
Making it through without any hassle because I didn't bring my handgun because there's no reason, we head toward the terminal, and we arrive thirty minutes before boarding, so we sit in the waiting area until it's time to board. Almost seventeen hours later, we're landing in Milan, Italy, and the three of us are ready to be off the plane, and Lucca did very well for a child on a long flight.
Axel gets us a taxi from the airport to take us to the hotel, so we can check-in, and chill there because all three of us are seriously jet-lagged. We're also planning on ordering room service for our meal here, too, because we're too tired to go anywhere for dinner. Tomorrow we have plans on visiting the Civic Aquarium tomorrow, and Idroscalo Lake, having a picnic lunch at the lake, and having supper at a restaurant that's child friendly.
We've been in Milan now for six days, and we're leaving tomorrow afternoon. Ugh, this is such a beautiful city with so many beautiful sights and friendly people, that we're sad to be leaving. Axel and I have agreed that we'll be back again in a couple of years because that's how much we love being here. Today we're going to the Civic Planetarium and the Indro Montanelli Public Gardens.
"Ready to head out to the Planetarium?" Axel asks Lucca and I, and we both tell him we are.
Leaving the hotel room, we ride the elevator down from the fourth floor to the main level, and climb into the cab that I ordered off an app for taxi's here in Milan. The ride to the Planetarium takes about twenty minutes, and we watch and listen to the presenter for the next forty-five minutes, and his show is amazing. Axel had already ordered a taxi off my phone app before the end of the Planetarium, so when we arrived outside, the taxi's there, and now we're off to the Public Gardens. Axel seems nervous for some reason the closer we approach our next location, and I have no idea as to why.
"Are you okay, baby, you seem nervous?" I ask him softly, reaching over Lucca's head to gently caress Axel's cheek.
"Yeah, I'm fine, baby, I promise," he assures, but I'm not fully convinced, but decide not to push the topic.
Wandering through the gardens, which are very beautiful, by the way, I become distracted at one point because I'm interested in one of the flowers, and don't notice Axel dropping to his right knee next to me. When I don't hear him and Lucca chatting about what they think we'll see next, I turn my attention to my boyfriend and son, and my eyes widen in shock at Axel's position.
"What are you doing, Axel?" I ask because I'm sure he's not going to do what I think he's going to do.
Lucca loudly giggles as Axel grins, pulling a black ring box from his front pocket, opening it as he says; "Milan, I know some might say that we're too young, or that it's too early in our relationship for what I'm about to ask you, but I don't care what they have to say or think. What matters to me is you and Lucca, only. You two have brought such joy and happiness into my life, and I hope I've done the same, and I know this might seem scary, but I know that if we're together, we can make it through anything life has to throw at us. So, will you honor me by becoming my husband? I promise to do my best every day for you and Lucca, and be a great husband and dada for you both."
Tears fill my eyes as I eagerly nod, shouting; "Yes, I'll marry you, Axel!"
He slips the ring onto my left ring finger before standing with Lucca in his hold, and pulling me against him, and kissing me deeply.
