3rd Person POV:

Wendy entered the cafeteria, making a beeline for Dustin and Mike's table. The Hellfire Club table where Eddie Munson, a senior who is repeating the year again, sat with the other club members.

"Who are you?" One of the boys asked with scrutinizing eyes. Wendy thinks his name is Jeff.

"Did I leave my headphones at your house?" Wendy ignored him, looking at Mike and Dustin. "I can't find them and they weren't in my backpack."

"No, I don't have your headphones," Mike rolled his eyes before looking up at her. "Are you sure Steve doesn't have them?"

"He doesn't have them," Wendy shook her head.

"And how do you know that?" Mike asked.

"Because he values his life," Wendy said like it was obvious. She looked at Dustin. "Have you seen them?"

"Mike, Dustin, who is she?" Another member of the club asked. That one might be Gareth.

"No, I have not seen them, but I'll keep an eye out," Dustin said before turning to the table. "Guys, this is our friend Wendy."

"No girls allowed," Another boy said, glaring at Wendy. Might be Grant.

"I don't plan on staying," Wendy snarked. She then looked around, not seeing Lucas. "Where's Lucas?"

"He's trying out for the basketball team," Mike grumbled.

"I'll ask him," Wendy said and just before she left the table, she reached over Dustin's and Mike's shoulders to steal a french fry from each of their trays.

"Since when were you friends with a Harrington?" Eddie asked the freshman.

"Since we were kids," Dustin shrugged. "She's nice when you get to know her and, I know her brother was 'King Steve', but he's nice too."

"She's pretty cute," Gareth, another member of the club, shrugged.

"I wouldn't go for it," Mike shook his head.

"Why not?" Gareth asked defensively.

"We know Wendy and she has expressed multiple times how she's not looking to date right now," Mike said.

"And you're not her type," Dustin chuckled, making Mike look at him in suspicion. What does Dustin know that he doesn't?

"Then what is her type?" Gareth asked.

Dustin chuckled to himself, popping a french fry in his mouth.

"Redheads. With an attitude."

Wendy weaved through the crowded hallways with ease, nothing stopping her from going to her destination. Well, except when she passed Nancy in the hallway.

"Nancy, quick!" Wendy skidded to a stop in front of the senior. Nancy looked at Wendy in surprise as she held a book that she was going to put away in her locker. "Have you seen my headphones at your house?"

"Did you ask Mike?" Nancy asked.

"I did, he said he hasn't seen them," Wendy said.

"Knowing him, he doesn't look properly," Nancy sighed. "I'll keep an eye out when I get home, alright?"

"Thank you!" Wendy smiled and then noticed Nancy's hair. "Oh, I love the curls!"

Nancy smiled to herself as she watched Wendy disappear into the crowd.
