3rd Person POV:

Wendy tapped at Dustin's window, startling the boy so badly he held up a coat hanger for defense. Dustin stomped up to the window, looking at Wendy with wide eyes.

"What happened to using the front door?!" Dustin asked.

"I didn't know if your mom would let me in or not," Wendy shrugged. "It is late."

"It's 6 o'clock, not that late," Dustin said. "Go to the door and I'll let you in."

"Fine," Wendy sighed, walking away from Dustin's window to the Henderson's front door.

"Mom, Wendy's here!" Wendy heard Dustin shout from inside.

The front door opened and Wendy walked inside.

"Hi, Wendy!" Mrs. Henderson called out.

"Hi, Mrs. Henderson!" Wendy replied.

"Feel free to get something to eat or drink!" Mrs. Henderson said.

Wendy and Dustin went into his room and Dustin closed the door.

"Before you start, let me ask," Dustin said, making Wendy confused. "Any nightmares?"

"No," Wendy said.

"Flickering lights?" Dustin questioned. "Feeling like something's watching you?"

"No, and no," Wendy chuckled.

"Feeling like you need your katana for safety?" Dustin asked.

"No, Dustin, I'm safe," Wendy snorted. "I'm feeling safe."

"Okay, good," Dustin nodded. "So, what's up?"

"I think something is wrong with me," Wendy admitted.

"How do you go from feeling 'safe' to this?" Dustin asked. "Is it the scars? Are they tingling again!?"

"Not my scars," Wendy rolled her eyes. "Something is going on and I don't know what's happening."

"Then what's happening to you?" Dustin asked.

"I don't know!" Wendy threw her hands up. "My heart beats fast and my stomach feels weird and I don't feel like myself!"

"Are you sick?" Dustin asked.

"Probably!" Wendy shrugged.

"When does this happen? Is it happening right now?" Dustin asked.

"No, when I'm with Max.." Wendy admitted, making Dustin raise his brows in surprise. "I tried to brush it off as some sort of anxiety attack before but lately it's..this."

"When did this start?" Dustin asked.

"When Starcourt opened," Wendy thought about it for a second. "Max and I used to go shopping and take advantage of my dad's credit card."

"And this would happen when you're alone with her?" Dustin asked.

"Yeah," Wendy nodded.

"And what about when you're away from her?" Dustin asked.

"Well, after Steve is done asking me about my day, I think about what Max is doing," Wendy shrugged.

"Mmm," Dustin hummed, going to his bookshelf and pulling out a book.

"What?" Wendy asked in suspicion.

"I think I know what's wrong with you," Dustin said, flipping through the book.
