It's been a few weeks since our unforgettable trip to France, and i'm happy to finally say that just a few days ago, our school finally closed for the Christmas holidays.
Now, it's Christmas Eve, and i've decided to embrace the festive spirit.
Tonight, i'm wearing a long, elegant backless dress and have curled my hair just slightly with a curling iron to add a soft wave.
A few days ago, Melina and I painted our nails a crisp white, so we could match each other perfectly.
I completed my look with a pair of high heels, a touch of jewelry, and the final layer—vanilla perfume that Mateo gave me as an "early" Christmas present.
Christmas used to be a day i dreaded, filled with painful memories from my childhood when the holidays were marked by sadness and difficult times with my mom.
Now that i've grown older and found a way out of that dark chapter, it feels almost surreal, maybe even a bit unsettling, to be celebrating Christmas with friends who have become like family to me. It's strange how life changes.
Sometimes, i find myself missing my
dad—not the man who caused me so much pain, but a version of him that my mind tries to imagine, where he was loving and kind, in some alternate universe where things were different. But i quickly brush those thoughts away as i head to the entryway.
There, i see Mateo, looking incredibly handsome in a sleek black suit. His hair falls perfectly across his face, highlighting his features in a way that makes my heart skip a beat.
The clothes suit him so well, and the scent of his cologne is almost intoxicating.
He's leaning casually against the doorframe, a slight smirk playing on his lips as he waits for the others to arrive.
Leon is playfully rolling on the floor at his feet, hoping for some attention.
Leon has grown quite a bit since we first got him, and it's clear he loves his home here.
When we're away for longer periods, we either leave him with his 'uncle and aunt' Melina and Elias, or with Mateo's parents. But Leon is such a friendly dog that it makes things easier for us since he enjoys meeting new people.
As Mateo's gaze shifts to me, i notice him checking me out, and i can't help but smile brightly at him.
His expression softens as he steps closer, gently taking my hand and pressing a tender kiss on it, looking up at me through the strands of hair that have fallen into his eyes.
"M'lady," he says, with a playful tone that immediately makes me think of Adrien Agreste from Miraculous Ladybug, a show i've been obsessed with lately.
Mateo has picked up some of Adrien's charming traits, which makes me adore him even more.
As he stands up straight, i lean in and kiss him, our noses brushing against each other as our lips move in perfect harmony.
His hand finds its way to my waist while mine rests at the back of his neck, pulling him closer as i breathe in more of his scent, which drives me absolutely wild.
