As Lemon and Cheese got to the start of the skate track, Cheese's eyes immediately locked on to Pinkie. Lemon noticed and smacked him upside the head, snapping him out of it.

Cheese glared at his team mate. "What was that for?"

"We're here to win." Lemon replied as she rolled her eyes at him.

You might be here for that but I'm not. Cheese thought to himself as he looked over at Pinkie and smiled.

Pinkie smiled back as Dean Candance explained the rules.

And with that the competition began. Canterlot High got the win on the archery part, the students in that bracket for Canterlot High were Applejack and Fluttershy. Anyways, it was now time for the speed skating. Lemon and Rarity couldn't keep up with Pinkie and Cheese who zooming around the track in sync. They really didn't to outdo each other so, they did all they could to ensure they'd tie. And it worked, much to the annoyance of Crystal Prep.

After the triathlon, "Mr. Sandwich, a word." Cinch said as she ushered him over.

Cheese let out a heavy sigh and did as he was told. "What?"

"Are you trying to make me look bad?" Cinch asked as she forced him to back into a nearby  wall.

Cheese stared at the ground. "No. I just didn't want to beat my best friend."

"Friendship doesn't matter in these games." Cinch said, straightening her jacket.

"Then why are they called the Friendship Games?" Cheese asked in confusion.

"That was just what Canterlot High named it and that's all it is." Cinch replied.

"Well, it shouldn't be." Cheese exclaimed. "The games should be about bringing our school together not pulling them apart."

"Oh, but you see that's the joy of competition." Cinch commented.

"Joy in competition?" Cheese repeated in confusion as he started to twitch. "How can anyone find joy in outdoing others? Making others feel bad about themselves? There  is no joy in such a terrible thing or at least there shouldn't be."

Cinch backed away from Cheese, slowly. "Stop twitching at once. I will not have a crazed student."

Cheese stared darkly into Cinch's eyes as he tilted his head and his hair straightened on it's own. "Crazy? I'm not crazy." He slowly approached her with bad intentions.

From the other side of the field, Pinkie saw what Cheese and Cinch were doing. Oh, no. Without missing a beat, she appeared between them, facing Cheese. "Cheesie, stop."

Cheese's eyes widened at the sound of her voice. "Pinkie, get out of the way."

Pinkie shook her head. "No, I won't. You can't do this."
