Sunday morning arrived a sluggish wave, pulling Angel into its lazy current. The night before had been a whirlwind—music thrumming through her veins, the taste of alcohol still lingering on her lips, and the hazy memory of Niccolò's hands on her waist as they danced. Now, though, all she wanted was to sink into her bed and let the world pass by.

She barely moved all day, cocooned in her bed with her laptop propped on a pillow. The curtains were drawn, casting a dim light over her room as she flicked through her favorite movies. She finally settled on the notebook a comfort film she could watch a thousand times and never get, it was all just what she needed to distract her from the exhaustion still clinging to her bones.

At some point, she found herself scrolling through online stores, filling her cart with items she didn't need but desperately wanted. A pair of high-waisted shorts, a flowy summer dress, a few tops perfect for the warm weather ahead—all essentials for the upcoming trip to Spain. She added a pair of oversized sunglasses to the list, imagining herself wearing them as she lounged on the beach, a cool drink in hand.

The week that followed was a blur. School was a pressure cooker of exams and last-minute assignments, the final push before the end of the year. Angel had always been a straight-A student, but the stress of maintaining her grades was overwhelming. She spent every free moment studying, her social life and time with Niccolò taking a backseat. The thought of him waiting for her after school, texting her to check in, gave her a small comfort amid the chaos.

She barely saw her friends, and when she did, it was only in passing between classes or during short study breaks. By the end of the week, her brain felt fried, but she knew it had been worth it. She aced her exams, the sense of accomplishment fueling her through the final days of school.

Saturday morning brought a much-needed sense of relief. Angel woke up feeling lighter, the weight of the week's stress finally lifted from her shoulders. She had planned a whole day of relaxation with Virginia, and the thought of spending time with her best friend, away from the pressures of school, filled her with excitement.

The weather was perfect as they stepped out onto the bustling shopping street, the sun warm on their skin. People crowded the sidewalks, all eager to enjoy the beautiful day. Angel and Virginia walked arm in arm, chatting about the week, their upcoming trip to Spain, and the outfits they planned to bring.
