"the ayanami series was destroyed, so all that's left are units one and two" i said
"which are being mobilized" misato said, i blinked
"what, why" asuka asked, misato sighed
"the UN wants everything EVA related to be gone, we have no way of getting rid of the failed prototypes, and even less options for the two active units, an order was recently given that will allow us to fulfill the order, it's either this or the execution of the second and third child" misato said frustrated
"i'm confused, why are we launching them" i asked
"we are throwing you into the dirac sea" misato said, i blanched

"so why are the five of us here" i asked
"rei must go do to her origins, shinji you have to go too, unit-01 won't respond to anyone else, it's either this or your execution, ritsuko has guaranteed you will live through being sent through the dirac sea, where you will end up, we only have a theory" she said
"so why are the stooge and hikari here" asuka said
"because unlike shinji you can choose to stay here, all tests indicate that unit-02 will respond to anyone we put into the entry plug, miss horaki is here, because i know of your close relationship with her, and believed that you would be most willing to pass on your EVA to her, if you choose to stay here, the good news is, only shinji and rei have to go, the only person unit-02 won't listen to is rei, we don't entirely know why, what we do know is that, unit-02 does not need to be active during the transference, unit-01 can drag unit-02 with it if necessary" misato explained
"why is it always me" i muttered
"i'm sorry shinji" she said genuinely
"how many can go" toji asked
"we will make all five of you work if you all choose to go" misato answered
"then i'm going, i owe shinji my life, and my sisters life, for not only fighting the angels but for counteracting third impact, i have a dept to repay" he said

"no problem, you've been alone long enough" toji said, hikari hesitated, she had her entire family to think about, and while toji was thinking about his little sister, he knew that shinji needed it more

"the UN is well aware what it is demanding is a high price, and to compensate the EVA pilots who did fight to save the world, even against their own kind, the UN is making sure everyone involved with you kids are well taken care of, something the UN's done right, and you won't be going defenseless we have charged two shots into the prototype positron rifle and the UN was kind enough to collect and return the spear of longinus that was drifting in orbit" misato said
"asuka" i asked
"do you think i have any reason to stay here, idiot" asuka said though she had a small smile on her face
"thank you kids, i wish i could go to, but i have to make sure the UN actually follows through on their promises" misato said
"how" asuka asked
"hmm, disposing of lilith is a lot easier then disposing of the evangelions, we are simply going to launch it into the sun, lilith has been unmoving for years it is unlikely it will move now your EVA's on the other hand" misato trailed off
"have shown recent proof that they tend to move on their own" i said
"exactly, shinji i am putting you in charge of this little group, asuka listen to him, i know the others will" misato said sternly
"like i got any other choice, i am not stupid enough to cast off on my own" asuka said
"good, and i'm gonna give you a little advice, you will carry the name of our organization wherever you go, where it with pride, and don't be afraid to use your EVAs to get what you deserve" misato said, asuka nodded while shinji smiled sheepishly
"keep her in line shinji" misato said noting the look asuka was wearing, who scowled instantly
