the group of five didn't exactly know what to expect when they arrived, but it certainly wasn't this
"great a parallel universe, and a dystopian one at that" asuka snorted
"we need to see if there's anyone still alive, we will have a rather tough time getting out of this dimension without help" i said
"i'm sure misato is around somewhere, unless this universe marks the exact opposite, misato will be too goddamned stubborn to die" asuka said
"agreed" i said, as the two evangelions began to make their move, soon finding what remained of NERV
"should we go down there" i asked
"i don't see why we shouldn't" asuka said, as the group slowly climbed down the large hole, until they came across a rather scary sight
"what the hell happened" asuka said
"help me pull it out" i said, asuka froze
"are you sure that's a good idea" asuka asked
"rei was able to pull our spear out of lilith with no issue we should do the same and maybe gain access to a third EVA unit" i said
"alright your the boss" she said as her EVA grasped one of the spears shinji put down the spear it was carrying to grasp the second spear that was pierced into the unknown EVA
"on the count of three, we slowly pull out" i said
"right" she responded
"one, two, three" i said and the two EVAs worked in harmony that only asuka and shinji could and pulled the spears from the EVA, this caused the massive angel to explode into a sea of blood, but the EVA returned to a normal size for an evangelion
"asuka take the spears, i'll take the EVA" i said
"right" she said taking the spear from unit-01 before collecting the discarded spear, they then spent the next several hours climbing out of the hole of the returned base, once they were out unit-01 through the unknown EVA over it's shoulder holding it in place with one arm, so that he could take one of the spears from unit-02 for ease of transport
"let's go" i said
"how exactly do we get off this island" asuka asked, i paused then remembered how tabris floated
"i got an idea" i said, as unit-01 took a step, and shinji smiled widely as the EVA stepped upon it's own AT-field
"use your AT-field as a bridge, like the fourteenth angel and tabris" i said, hesitantly she nodded and concentrated as she began to follow unit-01
"where are we going" asuka asked
"hopefully towards mainland, where we can maybe find some aspect of civilization" i replied
units one and two wondered for several days, before finding themselves in, when they saw what appeared to be a meteor crash land
"we know where we're going" i said, as we made our trek towards the comet to learn it was this universes version of EVA unit-02, of which had seen much better days
"what's in the box" asuka asked
"i have a feeling, that if this universe version of asuka is holding it, it's either unit-00, or more likely" i said as i pried the box open, to reveal a very familiar face
"unit-01" i said, a moment later
"don't come any closer" a very frightened voice said, as the heavily damaged unit-02 of this universe began to move
"oh quit acting like a coward we're here to help you" she said
"who are you" asuka asked
"asuka langley-soryu, pleasure to meet ya, my counterpart" she said
"staying here is probably not a good idea i do not want to meet whatever put you in this position, tell me what's your name or is it identical to her" i said cutting off the introduction, while unit-01 pointed a thumb at the pristine unit-02
"i'm shikinami, not soryu" she said
"then that's what i'll call you, and i'll call mine soryu, speaking of soryu help me get this box open, i am not lugging this giant thing" i said
"how are we handling the spear problem" i said, in response unit-01 took all three spears and held them in one hand
"you get to carry your counterpart and the spears, i will take our friend here" i said, as i lugged this universes unit-01 over the shoulder, eventually the group finds land
"new goal, get my counterpart out of their unit-01, i will take it over, rei you will pilot our unit-01, i am sure my mother can here me say this so she should accept you, toji you will take that unit, i said indicating the blue EVA
"that's the Mk.06" she said
"noted, toji you'll take over the Mk.06, now shikinami explain to us what the hell is going on please" i said, shikinami nodded and began the long story of how they ended up in this situation
