The meeting dragged on, but Woozi's thoughts had long since wandered. His fingers brushed the edge of his lips, and he swallowed hard, the memory of her kiss burning through him like wildfire.
He had dreamed of that moment countless times, a feverish wish that haunted him in the quiet hours of the night. But reality had surpassed even his wildest fantasies. Her lips against his had been soft, warm, a balm to the ache that had festered in his chest for so long.
A fool may be known by his words, but Woozi had been rendered silent by the sheer power of that kiss. In it, he had found the solace he'd been chasing—a fleeting moment where the world shrank to just the two of them, wrapped in each other's breath.
The taste of her still lingered on his tongue, sweet as forbidden fruit. He had spent so long imagining, yearning, and now that he had her, he found himself insatiable. He wanted more—more of her touch, her scent, her very essence.
His heart beat like a war drum like a relentless reminder of the storm she had awakened within him.
The longing was unbearable like a thirst that refused to be quenched.
As the meeting droned on, he knew one thing for certain: his life would never be the same again.
And it never was.He felt a small nudge on his leg and jolted to look at his side at glaring Jun.
"I can hear your chessy thoughts." Jun muttered under his breath.
Woozi narrowed his eyes. "Is it jealousy I'm sensing?"
Jun scoffed leaning back on the chair as his eyes turned darker. "She loved me first."
Woozi rolled his eyes. "FYI, I was her childhood crush."
Jun snapped his head at the other male who was now smirking. But Woozi's smirk soon dropped as his eyes closed on Y/N's father sitting beside Seungcheol glaring at every other male who claimed to love his daughter.
"But I am not sure what to do anymore."
Jun sensed the dilemma. He felt same way.
Everything was too much even for a complicated man like him. He felt as if he was in a story with now disclosure. And in all this, he had forgot how it felt to like normal.
The memory of his own torment was never far from his mind. Twenty years ago, his life had been shattered, the pieces scattered to the winds, impossible to gather again. Normalcy had become a foreign concept, something he watched from afar but could never touch. Until Y/N.
And now that her father was in the picture, he knew she'd leave with him at the first chance. None of them had given her any reason to stay. And he'd agree with her.She had been his calm in the storm. But in his embrace, her light had dimmed, her laughter stifled by the darkness he carried. She had tamed his chaos, yet it was her soul that bore the scars.
But the thought of losing her was a knife to the gut, twisting deeper with every passing moment. The cage she'd built around his heart was one he'd willingly stepped into, and he couldn't bear the thought of her taking the keys with her, locking him inside with nothing but his own despair.
Jun sighed deeply, his fingers pressing into his temples as the weight of everything bore down on him.
The room was filled with the quiet hum of tension, the atmosphere thick and stifling. The mess they were in was almost beyond comprehension. Doyoon's doppelgänger was lurking somewhere in the shadows, Jeonghan was injured, and Y/N's father sat like a sentinel of doom, his presence more a curse than a blessing.
Trust was a luxury they could no longer afford.
And Jun was anything but happy. His mind raced with suspicions. Johnny—was he truly who he claimed to be, or just another piece in this twisted game?
