My Sacrifice For My Butterfly

Broken by Seether played as Damion drove through the streets of Tokyo in his '69 Charger. The incident at the bar had made news headlines and the Tokyo police were closing in. Saki, Zoe and Earl had fled the country thanks to Thomas and now it was only a matter of time until Damion was either dead or behind bars.

"Saki..." Damion said over the phone, "I-I.." He couldn't fight the flurry of tears as they streamed down his cheeks, "I want you to know that I'll always love you...I'm sorry I couldn't keep my promise to stay with you until the end, baby...but know that the people that hurt you...they won't be a problem anymore and Zoe...she's family, she'll always have your back, Earl too."

Saki's heart raced as she listened to Damion's faltering voice, her own eyes filling with tears at the thought of him facing such a horrific situation. "Damion, no! Please, don't talk like that. You'll make it through this, I know you will. Thomas will help you, and we'll make a plan to get you out of there."

Her voice shook, filled with emotion, "Don't worry about me. Zoe's like a big sister, and Earl...he's just a big teddy bear. They'll look after me. You just need to stay strong for a little bit longer, okay?"

A sob caught in her throat as she realized she might never see him again. She quickly composed herself, swallowing back her heartache, "You'll always be in my heart, Damion. No matter where life takes us, you'll never be forgotten. And I'll always love you. Always."

Saki held the phone tightly, her grip white-knuckled. "Stay strong, Damion. I believe in you. We'll find a way to be together again, I promise." She took a deep breath, knowing it might be their last conversation, "I'll wait for you. I'll always wait for you."

Tears streamed down her face as she hung up the phone, the sound of Seether lingering in her ears. Saki squeezed her eyes shut, praying for her Damion's safety and hoping for a miracle that would bring them back together. For now, she could only hold onto the memories they had made and the love they shared, as she prepared herself for the uncertainty that lay ahead.

"Don't think that, Saki!" Zoe whispered, her voice laced with determination. "Thomas is smart. He's got connections. And even if Thomas can't help, we'll find someone who can. We're not giving up on Damion. We're not."

Saki sniffled, rubbing her eyes, "I just...I can't imagine not having him here. He's my rock, you know. I...I'm scared of losing him."

Zoe pulled her into a hug, her arms wrapping tightly around Saki's frail frame. "We'll get him back, Saki. We'll get him back. You just have to trust me." She mouthed the words, hoping that her belief in Damion's survival would become a reality. "And remember, I love you, both of you. I'm not going to let anything happen to either of you. You're my family, and I'll protect you to my last breath."

Saki smiled through her tears, grateful for Zoe's unwavering support. "Thanks, Zoe. You're like a big sister to me. You always know how to make me feel better."

Together, the three of them, Zoe, Saki, and Earl, would hold onto hope, praying for a miracle that would reunite them with Damion. And as they did, they would continue to care for each other, forming an unbreakable bond that would see them through the darkest times. For now, they would wait, and they would pray, their faith in each other and Damion's strength their only solace in the face of a seemingly insurmountable obstacle.

When Damion arrived at Obata's compound, he took one final look at the photo on his Charger's dashboard...the photo that he had taken of himself, Saki, Earl, Zoe, Yara and Thomas all together at a picnic table while enjoying some barbecue. The warmth of the memory enveloped him like the summer sun, reminding him of their laughter and camaraderie, a stark contrast to the uncertainty that lay ahead at Obata's compound. As he glanced at the smiling faces frozen in time, Damion felt a surge of determination; he would do whatever it took to ensure that their bonds remained unbroken, even in the face of looming challenges in this final mission.
