Things had been heating up in the Philippines, Zoe had been called to reinforce Damion's battalion leaving Saki to stay by herself. Sitting on the couch alone in his apartment, Saki turned on the television and was greeted by a news report of the Seabees involved in a fierce firefight against the terrorist group Abu Sayyaf.

The footage showed the Seabees, Philippine Marines, and US Marines moving from building to building looking for enemies and suppressing enemy positions.

The sight of the soldiers on the television screen sent a chill down Saki's spine, the reality of the situation hitting her with a force that left her breathless. As she watched, her heart raced, her mind filled with images of Damion, of the dangers he faced on the battlefield.

"Oh, Damion," she whispered, her voice trembling with fear and uncertainty. "Please be safe. Please come back to me."

The hours ticked by in agonizing slowness, each minute stretching into an eternity as Saki waited for news, for any word of Damion's safety. She paced the apartment, her mind racing with possibilities, each one more terrifying than the last.

As the sun began to set, Saki found herself curled up on the couch, her eyes glued to the television screen, praying for a miracle, for a sign that Damion was still alive and well.

But as the night wore on, and the reports continued to pour in, Saki's heart sank with each passing moment. The casualties were high, the enemy's resolve unyielding, and the thought of losing Damion, of never seeing him again, filled her with a sense of despair that threatened to consume her entirely.

And so, with tears streaming down her face, Saki clung to the hope that Damion would return to her, that their love would be strong enough to withstand even the darkest of trials. She prayed for his safety, for his swift return, and for the strength to face whatever the future might hold.

For in that moment, Saki knew that her love for Damion was the one constant in her life, the one thing that would never change, no matter how much the world around her might shift and transform. With that knowledge, she found the strength to endure, to wait, and to hope for a future filled with love and light.

As the reports from the skirmish continued to come in, Saki couldn't bear to watch any longer and turned off the television. She decided to head over to the very restaurant where she and Damion had first met. As she sat down, she ordered the same thing that she had when she was with him along with a soda. When her meal arrived, Hayato walked in.

"Saki...long time no see." He chuckled as he took a seat in front of her, "How've you been?" He smiled.

Strangely...Hayato was acting as if he had changed...he seemed much kinder than last time when he was pimping her out to pay off that debt to Obata. Like the suave gentleman she had met at that convenience store when she was just a first-year high school student.

Saki's heart raced as she looked up at Hayato, a flicker of uncertainty and fear passing through her eyes. The sight of him, the memories of their past, both good and bad, washed over her in a wave of emotions that left her breathless.

"I've been...okay," she replied softly, her voice trembling slightly as she spoke. "Just waiting for Damion to come back from deployment."

She hesitated, her gaze dropping to the table, her fingers tracing the patterns on the tablecloth. The weight of Hayato's presence, the memories of their shared history, hung heavy in the air between them.

"You look...different," she murmured, her eyes flickering up to meet his gaze. "Like you've changed somehow."

A part of her longed for that change, for the Hayato she had once known, the one who had swept her off her feet with his charm and charisma. But another part of her, the part that had grown and evolved in the years since they had first met, knew better than to trust, knew the depths of the pain and betrayal that lay beneath his smooth exterior.
