Chapter 14

heyguys!!! I'm back and here is the chapter. although be warned that it maycontain some stuff that should not be read my chilren below 13 yrs old. anyway enjoy reading !! :)

Ethan P.O.V

Dinner was in a separate room from the cabin which was at some distance. The room had peach coloured walls and had big glass windows and a glass door covering the wall that showcased the sea.
Dinner was an intimate affair and all of us relaxed and were having a good time. Megan and Ashley are good cooks. The pasta was really good.
After dessert we all continued to sit there for sometime. Archie and Jake were engrossed in their conversation about COD along with James, while Ashley and Megan were busy talking about their similar music interests. Elena had gone into the kitchen sometime ago with everybody's plates.
That left me. I was sitting here wondering what on earth was taking her so long and the conversation we had before joining everyone for dinner. After we had sit down ,everybody was bickering with each other.
"Elena, I never knew you had such singular interests. I thought you would be more of the romantic type of person.",I said.
"Ofcourse she is. what was she reading that.. oh no, you weren't. Please don't tell me you got obsessed with the 'fifty shades of grey' guy.", James said and by the blush that covered Elena's cheeks, it was obvious that was exactly what she was reading.
"Oh shut up James. You know apart from all the stupid stuff in that book, the guy is actually nice and sweet and sexy and adorable.", Elena said while averting her eyes from me and looking at James.
"Oh, so you have already read that book? ",I asked.
"ew, please dont do this topic. I'm certainly not interested in discussing books here. God knows those medical books were enough to last a lifetime.", Archie said and Megan nodded in agreeement.
"Ofcourse she has read that book. Elena sort of reads different sorts of eroticas and then she tells me that the guy is nice apart from all that sadistic stuff. Only she can do that. But she didn't read that book since- ",James said but he was interrupted by a slightly panicked looking Elena.
"Uh James I think we should respect Archie's wishes and by the looks of it, Megan and him are in an agreement which is rare so why not change the topic?",Elena said but I didn't miss the look that passed between them where James looked sheepishly and Elena looked sort of annoyed and had a cold blank stare toward James behind that casual look.
Or maybe I have made a habit of reading too much into the girl's words. Was it just me or did everyone notice that James had been about to reveal somthing important ? Anyway, the conversation became sort of general but everytime I tried to bring up that topic again, Elena would subtly change the topic. I also hadn't failed to notice that she smiled and laughed a bit more freely with these friends and she didn't participate on her own in any conversation unless it was to divert the conversation from that topic. Her friends were constantly making an effort to draw her into conversations and she did comment on somethings but mostly she preferred her own company and despite the fact that it has been only twice since I met her, I couldn't help but wonder about her and it is now becoming impossible for me to leave her alone.

Elena P.O.V
In the kitchen, I was trying to calm myself down after that encounter that remind me of Him. No!!! I will NOT think about him.
that guy is the past and he will not affect me now and neither will any thing else that he says.
I did prove him wrong. I am an independent successful woman and I can live on my own. I dont need anyone else in my life. What james had been about to reveal...
huh, I would just have to avoid the devil and talk to James as soon as possible. Alone. He can't just spill all those beans infront of everyone like that, specially him. Although I tried my best to remain casual infront of everybody else but as soon as the topic had changed towards the book, all I had wanted to do was run out of the room and away from that conversation. But I had to sit there and although I didn't really have anything to worry about but I could feel the scrutinising gaze of Ethan almost as if he saw through me and as soon as possible I had grabbed everybody's plates and ran into the kitchen.
I was so engrossed in what was going on in my mind that I didnt notice when the devil himself came in and was standing right behind me.
I felt the prickling of my skin at the back of my neck before I heard him behind me.
I turned around so fast that I almost stumbled back to get away from him because he only slipped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him.
I could feel myself melting in his arms and he slowly bent downwards towards me.
When I was oh so sure that he was about to kiss me. My heart was beating faster than a train engine, my eyes closed and I melted like icecream in his arms, when there was a sudden clattering noise from outside and Megan's voice calling my name had me slipping out of his arms.
In an instant I had pushed him away from me and catching him off guard, I raced towards the entry to the dining room.
But before I had taken two steps, he caught my wrist and spun me around.
"We will finish this later when no one will interrupt .",Ethan said.
I almost melted again, but then I straightened myself and said," Nothing to finish here because there is nothing between us. I don't even know a thing about you. So forget anything like this happened ."and with that I took out my hand from his and walked back to the dining room with Ethan following me closely.
Whatever may happen, I must not be together with him . Not before that encounter .
