The cold breeze filled up the air as the students slowly started leaving the school. Jack and Sam were one of them. "Jeez, it's really cold." The taller boy said, wrapping a cosy scarf around his neck. "You gotta get used to it cause it's not getting warmer anytime soon." his friend affirmed, softly laughing before walking down the stairs. Jack smiled and followed his friend down the stairs to the path. "Jack." That voice made the boy freeze. He turned around to face the familiar girl, but soon enough, he started feeling very nervous, developing goosebumps all over his body. She was wearing a pair of jeans and a long beige coat topped with the thick scarf he gave her a few weeks back covering her entire neck and chin. However, what caught the boy's eye the most was her freshly cut hair. He couldn't express how beautiful it made her look. . . . "I like your hair.. it suits you a lot. You know.. defines your light curls." Emma smiled, feeling eager. Her cheeks and nose were bright red from the cold. "Thanks. Although I'm quite surprised you noticed my slightly wavy hair, you're pretty much the only one." she chuckled, slowly walking towards the boy. "I am?" Jack asked. "Yeah, definitely." she answered, now standing right in front of him. "Um.. you up for a walk? To.. clear things up?" She declared, looking into the boy's eyes. "Yeah,.. yeah, definitely. I've wanted to for a while." He said before walking off to the sidewalk with Emma right beside him.
After minutes of wandering in silence, Jack finally stopped. "Hey, Em.." The girl turned around to face him, raising her eyebrows, letting him know that she's listening. "I like you.. a lot, if the kiss didn't make that clear already. But I wanted to explain myself.." He said as the wind blowed stronger and the girl's heart started to beat faster. She was ready to hear whatever he had to say no matter what, and there was nothing stopping the boy either. "..I've liked you pretty much ever since we met, but it wasn't something very strong, so I could control it, you know.." she nodded, feeling on edge. He gulped and continued; "..but after some time, the feeling growed bigger, and it was hard for me to stay close to you. That's why i distanced myself.." he said softly, looking concerned as the girl watched him, full of emotion. "I tried. I tried to let go of the feelings, but.. I just can't. I don't want to lose our friendship because you're really special to me, and I've never felt like this.. about anybody. I swear that I will try to control myself tho, I never wanted to step in between you and your boyfriend.." he finished talking, looking at the girl desperate of forgiveness. "Right... I broke up with Damion." Jack was taken aback from what she just said, "Yeaahh.. your kiss made me realise what I really wanted and what was the best for me. Also I'm sorry for how I acted and uhm, thank you for explaining, I sorta thought you hated me." -"Hate you? Impossible." They chuckled, finally feeling relieved. "So.. what do you want?" Jack asked as a quiet pause filled the air, leaving only the sound of their beating hearts. Emma took a step closer to Jack, making their faces just a few inches far from each other. The boy's heart was racing at this point, and he felt like it was going to explode any time soon. Emma gently wrapped her hands around his neck and pulled him closer to her, feeling weak at her knees, knowing there was no going back now. She leaned in, pressing her lips against his as butterflies filled her stomach. Jack's heartbeat slowed down as he grabbed the girl by her waist, pulling her deeper into the kiss. It was like everything around the two faded away, leaving them focused just on themselves. They slowly pulled away from each other, all blushy and trembly, still trying to catch their breath. "You... I want you." She said, making the boy light up with happiness. "..if the kiss didn't make that clear, you know.." she said softly, laughing. "Oh yeah, it did. It made it very clear." The boy answered, grinning from ear to ear as he grabbed her hand and interlinked their fingers before walking off, towards the bus stop together.
