In the hush of twilight's gleam, She drifts into her nightly dream, A train station where shadows play, Echoes of a life halfway.
She stands upon the platform's edge, Amongst the steam and iron ledge, The air is thick with whispers soft, As she waits, her heart aloft.
Across the tracks, a shadow stands, A figure carved by unseen hands, A man of darkness, tall and slight, Who fades away with morning's light.
The trains rush by with roaring speed, But he remains, her heart's quiet need, Each night he's there, steadfast, still, A presence that her dreams fulfill.
At first, she feared his silent gaze, But soon it warmed her lonely days, She longed to cross, to reach his side, But in her dreams, the rules abide.
She watched him as the trains would scream, A phantom in her nightly dream, And slowly, like the tides that sway, She fell in love with shadows gray.
In waking hours, her thoughts would stray, To the station where her dreams would lay, A love unspoken, bound by night, A silhouette in fading light.
But dreams are mist, and shadows flee, Yet she clings to what might be, For in the night, when all is still, She'll find him waiting, and she will.
For every night, when dreams take flight, She meets him in the fading light, A love that's wrapped in shadow's care, A silent bond they nightly share.
And though the dawn will take him back, She'll always find the midnight track, For love can bloom in strangest places, Even in the shadowed spaces.
Note : This poem is based on my dream I used to dream a lot about trains during the lockdown period and I always saw a black figure standing far from me and watching /observing . I could make out he was a man but he had no features and was just a shadow . I wrote this poem during that time only...so this was my first ever poem hope y'all liked it :3
