This chapter is an adaptation from "The Conscience of The King" - First Season of The Original Star Trek Series.
There were three sole survivors of The Massacre on Talos Four. One of the many United Federation of Planets Colonies.
Talos Four was a prosperous United Federation of Planet Colony where everyone worked side by side. It was no low crime, and it had very few problems. It welcomed everyone.
It didn't allow religious intolerance, racial discrimination, it didn't allow any probias to premiate it.
It promoted Diversity and everyone got along and its elected governor was Kudos and he had one daughter, Juliana.
Talos Four was doing very well up until the year of 2268, and then due to drought. The crops started to fail and it was left with an impending famine.
In medieval times when the crops failed, The people would blame the King for the crops for failing, and the people would rebel and they would seek to replace the King with a new King that their God would smile on and return the crops.
Kudos was faced with a famine and he sends for his cabinet and he asks for suggestions, and his cabinet doesn't know what to say to him, but finally in the end Kudos decides to play god.
Kudos estimates that there is enough food to last for one year and he decides that only those elite families will be given the remaining food until it runs out.
Kudos decides that the vast majority of the families will die and be executed as there is no other way.
He orders his government to deliver a notice to all the families that would be executed.
One by one the first ones to be taken were the men, fathers, and their sons to their executions, and they died bravely together.
Kudos waited for two days later, then on his orders all the women, mothers, and their daughters, sisters, and aunts were carried out to their executions and from the background watching in horror where Thomas Layton and Captain James T Kirk and they heard the women cry out before they were executed " We will justice."
Kudos and his daughter escape from Talos Four under alias names and he thinks he can escape from Justice.
Thomas Layton is mysteriously murdered and some say he was poisoned as he was one of the surviving people who last saw Kudos alive along with Captain James T Kirk and Lt Kevin Thomas Riley.
Lt Kevin Thomas Riley remembers the day he laid his family to rest on Talos Four and from his balcony was watching Kudos with his daughter.
He showed no remorse or shame for the slaughter for thousands of innocent families on Talos Four.
Thomas Layton suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and t
he ghosts of all those innocent people on that day still haunted him as did Lt Kevin Thomas Riley but no one knows if it affected Captain James T Kirk, and if it didn't he didn't let show.
Lt Kevin Thomas Riley never forgot that terrible day when he saw the dead bodies of his father, mother and sister.
