Ariane tries to seduce Captain Kirk and while she does she manages to take the phaser from Captain Kirk and while they struggling , she accidentally pulls the trigger and the phaser is on kill rather than on stun and she hits her father and he falls to the floor and she rushes over to her father and he dies in her arms.
Ariane is pronounced insane at the trial and committed to a United Federation of Planet Penal Colony of The Criminally Insane.
