"How did you do that?" Ni-ki asked, stepping back from Sunoo to get closer to the bed." How were you able to use my powers?" Sunoo turned around in confusion. "I don't know I was upset that he would try and threaten me. I didn't even know what I was doing." Sunoo sighed and walked closer to Ni-ki sitting on the bed and pulling him down. Ni-ki sat down but left space between them and Sunoo turned and faced him sitting cross-legged. "Do you think we could escape?" Sunoo asked.
Ni-ki watched as Sunoo bit into his bottom lip and he had to turn away. "I think if he is being truthful then you shouldn't let the chance slip away but you should be cautious if you are going to work with Hee-Seung he seemed pretty adamant about needing you and that's what concerns me." Sunoo nodded in agreement. "So are you going to come with us? I know I forced your hand earlier but if you think it's a waste then I was serious when I said I trust you more than him." Sunoo asked.
Ni-ki turned to him placing his hand on Sunoo's knee and he gently pushed back a lock of hair that fell into Sunoo's face. "Of course, I can't leave you alone with that sociopath." Sunoo laughed. "Thanks It feels good to have someone by my side again." Ni-ki quirked up his eyebrow at the statement, "Again?" He asked and Sunoo sighed. "Yeah, I had this friend while I was still in school Min-Gi we did everything together until I got sent here. It's not fair I was living a normal life I wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for the damn mandated testing, and now here I am lumped in with a bunch of freaks."
Ni-ki moved his hand from Sunoo's knee and ran it through his dark wavy hair. "Freaks? Is that all we are to you? It's already bad enough some of us were born this way but others were just like you living a normal life until it all came crashing down around them. You aren't the only one here that's struggling with their mutation and calling us freaks isn't going to take away the fact that you also have a mutation Sunoo." Ni-ki stood from the bed and walked to the door. "Wait!" Sunoo called out grabbing Ni-ki's arm and pulling him back into his chest Sunoo hugged him from behind his forehead pressed into Ni-ki's shoulder and his arms tight around his waist. "I'm sorry, you're right my attitude in this situation isn't helping anyone please don't leave." Sunoo pleaded.
Ni-ki grabbed Sunoo's arms that were wrapped around him and pulled them away, he turned to Sunoo standing in front of him with round pleading eyes. "I'm sorry, please just don't leave me alone," Sunoo hesitantly stepped forward and gently grabbed the bottom hem of Ni-ki's shirt. " I'm a mutant, you're right I'm no different from anyone else here and no one deserves to be called names just because they were dealt the wrong hand in life," Sunoo stated with tears welling in his eyes Ni-ki closed the gap between them and Sunoo wrapped his arms loosely around Ni-ki's waist and laid his head on Ni-ki's shoulder. "I'm sorry I raised my voice at you." Ni-ki apologized and Sunoo lifted his head from Ni-ki's shoulder. "No, you had every right I shouldn't have been acting like that," Sunoo said as the tears began to fall Ni-ki cupped Sunoo's face and used his thumbs to wipe away the fallen. In bated breath, they looked at each other Sunoo didn't know who leaned in first but once Ni-ki's lips touched his he didn't care.
The kiss was gentle at first and filled with longing Sunoo felt like this was the only person he wanted to kiss for the rest of his life as he pulled back Ni-ki's dark eyes were like a black hole pulling him into the ether and he never wanted to escape. NI-ki leaned back in the kiss was filled with hunger their teeth clinked together and Sunoo was sure his lips would be swollen later due to the force. Sunoo felt Ni-ki's hands grab his hips pulling him even closer they were now flush against each other as he devoured Sunoo's mouth, he couldn't breathe trying to keep up with Ni-ki and had to pull his hair to get him to release Ni-ki groaned at the pain pulling back from sucking on Sunoo's bottom lip Ni-ki moved his head down to Sunoo's neck while the older took haggard breathes holding his head there.
Ni-ki nipped on the space near Sunoo's shoulder when there was a knock on the door. "No not now." Sunoo groaned out when the knocking started again he pulled away from Ni-ki whose hands seemed to have found their way under his shirt his skin tingled as Ni-ki dragged his short nails down his back. "Sunoo, are you in there?" They heard from the door Sung-Hoon called out to him before opening the door.
Ni-ki let go of Sunoo as Sung-Hoon walked into the room. "Did I interrupt something?" Sung-Hoon asked eyeing Ni-ki as he walked to the barred window. "No, not at all we were just talking right Ni-ki." Sunoo awkwardly laughed as he looked to Ni-ki for confirmation and got a single nod in return. "I just wanted to check on you since you know- don't you have something else to do?" Sung-Hoon started looking at Ni-ki who turned back and shook his head no. "You were saying?" Sunoo interjected moving to stand between Sung-Hoon and Ni-ki. Sung-Hoon walked further into the room coming closer to Sunoo. "Like I was saying I just wanted to check on you after the whole ordeal the other day I've been in one of the recovery rooms Jake told me what happened." Sung-Hoon's intense stare made Sunoo want to look away. "I'm okay, see I've healed up just nicely so you don't need to worry about me." Sunoo smiled.
Sung-Hoon looked perplexed his dark brows scrunching with unsounded thoughts before he nodded. "Was that all you wanted to say?" Ni-ki asked with irritation clear in his voice Sunoo looked back at him and then at Sung-Hoon with an eye roll before walking past him and exiting the room.
When Sunoo got downstairs he ran into Jay and Jung-Won who were talking in hushed whispers in the dining hall Sunoo grabbed a pastry filled with mango cream and bottled water and sat next to them. "No fucking way look at what the cat dragged in!" Jay shouted. "Hey, are you okay? Last time I saw you you were Dr. Kim was carting you away." Jay asked putting his sandwich down Sunoo looked between them taking a bite of his pastry, "Yeah, I'm fine just your standard mutation awakening I'm guessing." Sunoo joked. Jung-Won set his drink down and looked at Sunoo, "That wasn't standard when I started showing signs of my mutation my eyes turned red and one day my parents sent me here. It was Dr. Jin who wanted to see why you could hardly see it cause my hair had grown back but he cut open my skull. At the same time, I was still awake poked and prodded until one day I woke up hoping for someone else to take my place and there I was standing over myself willing to take on the responsibility." Jung-Won told Sunoo his voice as serious as ever.
"I noticed mine while I was playing guitar with my band we weren't getting a song right so I picked up my best friend's drum set and threw it about a hundred miles away next thing you know, I'm here," Jay said looking between them with a smile trying to lighten the mood. Jung-Won broke first his laugh rang in Sunoo's ears loud and clear it was infectious making both Jay and Sunoo laugh along.
