REINA WAS INVITED by dylan to have lunch with him and his friends. at first, she hesitated since she always had lunch with her friend group - plus, she would be meeting a bunch of new people. if she were to embarrass herself, you wouldn't hear from her ever again.

"c'mon rei, i want you to meet my friends. you're cool, they're cool, what's the problem?" dylan encouraged, guiding reina with his hand on her back - though, through connor's eyes he could argue he was practically shoving her towards his table.

"you think i'm cool?" she grinned.

he nodded. "the coolest. that's why you should hang with us instead."

"what, you mean ditch my friends?" she joked.

dylan nodded, and reina was surprised to find that he was being serious. "yeah, it's better for you."

she didn't reply. better for me? the fuck?

arriving at his friends' table, reina was a little intimidated by the amount of people there. it was only then did she realise how well known dylan was. to make things worse, it was all guys. just fucking fantastic.

reina kept a reasonable distance between herself and the big group. as dylan's friend's greeted him, reina awkwardly stood off to the side. she glanced towards her friend's table, seeing them all laughing about something. however, connor wasn't there with them.

she was about to go over there, since dylan didn't even make an attempt to introduce her, but a voice stopped her from doing so.

"hey, reina isn't it?"

turning to her right, she was met with one of dylan's close friends. he had dirty blond hair and had an oversized ralph lauren polo shirt with jeans. "yeah, hi. um, you're kai, right?"

"that's me. so, did dylan invite you to have lunch with us?" he asked.

she nodded. "yeah, he said introducing me to you guys would be fun."

the two looked over at dylan who was conversing with the group. kai pointed to him, "well he's doing a shit job so far."

"tell me about it," she replied bitterly, annoyed at how he seemed to forget about her when he insisted she come.

"i say run whilst you still can," he grinned. "you seem too sane for him."

reina laughed. "i was planning to, actually. no offence, you seem nice and all, but i just feel out of place."

"yeah, i get you," he nodded. "if you wanna leave, then i'll cover for you."

"thanks kai, but i'm sure he wouldn't give a fuck if i left anyway," she chuckled.

"well he did forget you, so you're not far off. but if he suddenly gets his head out of his ass, i'll cover for ya."

reina sent him a grateful smile. "thankyou kai, seriously. you can tell him i went to the bathroom - uh, i got food poisoning or something."
