❝ HE'S CUTE WHEN HE'S ALL
NERVOUS. ❞

REINA AND CONNOR were sat in the backseat of dennis' car, having been offered a lift. reina had her head on connor's shoulder throughout the journey, half asleep. it was only when they arrived at school and connor gave her a light nudge that she reluctantly lifted her head.

she was still a little weary being in the car after what happened, so she was close to connor's side as much as possible - which he didn't mind at all. occasionally eddie would send them a look from the rear view mirror, earning him two middle fingers every time.

the two haven't told anyone but eddie of their new relationship. they planned to tell benj and koosh today, and reina planned to tell bailey and alyssa, too.

they just wanted a bit of time adjusting to their new dynamic - but it wasn't a drastic change. they still acted the same; the only difference being an official label, and being a little bit more intimate with each other. 90% of the time it was bullying and insulting each other, though. nothing new.

"hah, beats riding the bus, doesn't it?" dennis chuckled, eating his breakfast sandwich. "hey, you know what? i've been thinking.."

"that's new," reina mumbled, making connor quietly laugh beside her.

"if you wanna tell people i'm your dad, i'm cool with that."

eddie looked at him weirdly. "i think i'm okay."

dennis continued to chew his food sloppily, making reina's blood boil. she couldn't stand people chewing their food loudly. connor instinctively wrapped an arm around her shoulders, in case she were to lunge forward and throw the sandwich out the window.

the three teens started to make their way out of the car, but connor and reina both realised their doors weren't opening. child lock must've been on.

"if you need anything, give me a call. i'll be at home, hanging out in your mom," he said casually.

eddie paused, getting back into the car and shutting the door behind him. he turned to face dennis fully, a pissed off look on his face. "you know what, dennis?"

"what's up?"

"shut the fuck up," eddie said lowly.

reina and connor both silently watched in shock.

"i am not the guy you think i am, dennis," he scoffed. "not anymore. i've changed. i've seen some shit - and not like a war vet has seen some shit, i'm talking actual shit. dripping down the walls of this stupid-ass car you love so much."

dennis furrowed his brows, looking around his car. reina moved closer to connor, grimacing at the incident she couldn't seem to escape.

"i don't know what any of that means."

eddie narrowed his eyes at him. "let me break it down for you. the other night, i took your car out, and i had the hottest girl in the back seat."
