❝ HER SHIT HAPPENED. ❞

GETTING INTO THE UBER, reina was greeted by a man with short black hair, an oversized tee, basketball shorts, and sunglasses. she thought he looked vaguely familiar, but shrugged it off. "uber for katrina?"

"yes ma'am, 162 wilmot ave."

"actually, if you don't mind there's been a change of plans, sir. i'm willing to pay extra for you to follow that tesla in front of us," she pointed to the car her friends were in.

he raised his brows. "ah, i see. which is it, cheating partner, or stalking a date?"

she laughed. "more like there's a drunk person in there that i don't wanna deal with, but i can't leave my friends."

the man nodded with a chuckle. "classic. but anyway i gotta tell ya i'm not really permitted to-"

"will an extra forty dollars do?" reina held up the money with an innocent smile, handing it to him. dennis left it in the secret hidden compartment in the middle console. pft, what an amateur.

"well what are we waiting for, buckle up kid, we got a car to follow," he said quickly, pocketing the money and following after the other car.

the radio was playing, but it was on mute, which confused her. "sir, you know your music is on mute right?"

"i'm waiting for them to play gangnam style," he replied. "oh and you can call me adam. sir makes me feel old."

reina nodded. after that, her phone started ringing. she saw connor's name appear on her screen and answered it. "con?"

"are you okay, you're behind us right?" he asked, katrina's music still blasting in the background.

"yeah, i am, everything's fine. but, um, you know her address right?" she asked unsurely, knowing they were headed towards the place where all the fast food places were.

"yeah, about that-"

"hurry up i'm hungry!" katrina yelled, making reina pull the phone away from her ear and wince.

"what the - is that on speaker phone?" adam asked.

reina shook her head slowly. "it's not on speaker phone.." she put the phone back against her ear, "con? what's going on?"

"katrina wants to go to taco bell and she won't shut up about it!" he exclaimed. in the background, reina could hear eddie trying to stop katrina from rapping so loudly.

"of course she does," she sighed. "alright, i'll meet you guys there."

after saying quick goodbyes, she hung up. "adam, you don't mind if we do a quick pit stop to taco bell, do you?"

the man hummed. "you know, i am craving some tacos right now."

GOING THROUGH THE DRIVE-IN, adam parked a couple spaces away from dennis' car. "thanks for the churros, adam," she smiled.
