Yujin watched the girl on the hospital bed as she slowly stirred awake. The harsh white lights made her look even paler than last night, and something about her fragile expression tightened his chest.

“Hey… miss? Are you alright?” he asked carefully.

She shook her head weakly.
“T‑thank you… for your help,” she whispered, voice barely steady.

“Oh—no, it’s my pleasure,” he replied quickly, suddenly hyper‑aware of how awkward the situation felt.

She opened her mouth to speak again.
“I… I’m sorry—”

Sorry?
Yujin blinked, confused.

“Why?” he asked gently.

She hesitated, then looked down.
“I…”

He cut her off softly. “Never mind, miss. You need to rest. Your face looks really pale.”

But instead of calming down, she tried to sit up. Panic washed over her features.

“I—I need to go now,” she said, attempting to rise.

Yujin immediately reached out and stopped her, holding her hand just enough to steady her.

“No, no… you need to rest,” he said. But the moment he touched her, tears spilled down her cheeks.

His eyes widened.
“Eh—h-hey… what happened?”

She started crying harder, trembling uncontrollably. Yujin didn’t think twice. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a gentle, secure hug.

“I’m… I’m sorry… I’m sorry…” she sobbed.

“Shh… miss. You didn’t do anything wrong. Calm down… it’s okay,” he murmured softly until her shaking eased.

Once her breathing slowed, he pulled back slightly.

“Uhm… I’m Yujin. Ahn Yujin,” he introduced himself. “And you?”

“I’m… Wonyoung,” she whispered.

Wonyoung.
The name fit her perfectly. Yujin swallowed hard—she was even prettier up close.

“Well… since the doctor said you’re allowed to discharge now… uhm… may you tell me your home location? Don’t get me wrong. I just want to send you home safely.”

But she froze, clearly unwilling to reveal her address.

Yujin hesitated.
Should he ask her to follow him home instead?
Would she even feel comfortable?

Just ask, idiot.

“Wonyoung… if you don’t want to share your address… then… uh… would you follow me to my house? I—I mean don’t misunderstand, I just—”

“No… no, it’s okay. I can go home by myself.”

“No, Wonyoung‑ah,” he said softly, “let me help you. I know I’m a stranger… but at least let me send you home safely. You’re not in a good state right now. Please.”
