27. The Morning After

They both tried to avoid eye contact, focusing instead on the task of getting dressed. The silence between them was heavy, filled with an awkward tension that neither knew how to address.

Just as they were about to head downstairs, Jennie and Jungkook burst into the room with wide grins on their faces, their excitement palpable.

"Good morning, lovebirds!" Jennie said cheerfully, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

Jisoo and Taehyung exchanged uncomfortable glances, their faces flushing with embarrassment. "Morning," Jisoo mumbled, trying to keep her voice steady.

Jungkook, ever the enthusiastic instigator, clapped his hands together. "So, how did you two sleep? Cozy, I hope?"

Jisoo shot Jungkook a look that could have melted steel. "We slept fine, thank you. Now, can we just get some breakfast?"

Jennie, however, was having none of it. She sauntered over to Taehyung and Jisoo, her grin widening. "Oh, come on, you two. You've got to admit, that was a pretty cute moment."

Taehyung's cheeks reddened slightly. "We were just trying to get some sleep. It was raining, and—"

"And you ended up cuddling," Jennie finished for him with a teasing tone. "That's basically a scene from a drama."

Jisoo glared at Jennie. "Jennie"

"Sure, sure," Jennie said, though her eyes clearly showed she was enjoying every minute of it. "But just know that we're shipping you two. You can't escape the fact that you're adorable together."

Jungkook chimed in, his grin matching Jennie's. "Yeah, I have to agree. You guys look like you've been through some epic love story or something."

In the kitchen, Jennie and Jungkook were already busy preparing breakfast. Jennie had managed to whip up a spread of pancakes, eggs, and bacon, while Jungkook set the table with an exaggerated flourish.

"Here you go, lovebirds. Breakfast is served!" Jennie announced, placing a stack of pancakes in the center of the table.

Jisoo and Taehyung sat down at the table, both trying to focus on the food in front of them rather than the teasing glances from their friends. They ate in relative silence, broken only by the occasional comment or laugh from Jennie and Jungkook.

Jisoo tried to deflect the conversation whenever possible, but Jennie and Jungkook seemed determined to keep the focus on her and Taehyung.

"So, any plans for today?" Jennie asked, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

Jisoo took a deep breath, trying to stay calm. "Actually, I have a lot to do today. Meetings, errands..."

Taehyung nodded in agreement. "Same here. I've got a few things lined up as well."

Jennie pouted dramatically. "Aww, come on. We can't have you two running off already. We need to hear more about your 'epic love story.'"

Jungkook snickered beside her. "Yeah, let's hear all about it. I'm sure you've got plenty of stories to share."

As breakfast continued, Jisoo and Taehyung managed to relax a bit. The teasing was relentless but in a friendly, affectionate way that reminded them of their shared history with Jennie and Jungkook. Despite the awkwardness of the morning, there was a comfort in being surrounded by friends who cared so much.

By the end of the meal, Jisoo and Taehyung found themselves laughing along with Jennie and Jungkook, the earlier tension melting away. The teasing continued, but it became a part of the fun rather than a source of discomfort.

As they prepared to head out, Jennie and Jungkook gave them one last round of playful nudges and winks. "Just remember," Jennie said with a grin, "We're always here to support our favorite couple."

Jisoo and Taehyung exchanged amused glances, the awkwardness of the morning now a shared joke between them. They left the house, ready to face whatever the day had in store, with their friends' playful support echoing in their minds.

After which, Jisoo went back to her house and Taehyung went to his. With Jennie and Jungkook giggling like kids thinking about them both. 

Right when Jisoo went home, the first thing she did was call Jennie, tell her all about it.

All about the night before. When she opened her phone and her first message was from Jennie

Jennie: "Hey, can't wait to hear all about last night! You and Taehyung seemed pretty cozy this morning 😜"

Jisoo: "Ugh, you're relentless. Fine, I'll tell you everything. Just give me a sec."

Jisoo sat on the sofa, still feeling the warmth of the night before. The storm had passed, leaving behind a bright and sunny day.

She didn't really have much to do today, so she just kept slothing around.
