As we all know, this book has came to an end with the pull of the heartstrings of all my lovely readers. But there are a few little things that I would like to bit up on and there will also be a little question that I already asked put out there for some people !
◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤ WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE STORY?
The purpose of the story is to dig deep into how it feels to be in a toxic relationship and not willing to escape from it. When we are in a toxic relationship with an individual who was originally not toxic in the beginning but slowly started to become an abuser.
It may not look like it but both Randal and the reader are not good people. Two negatives can't always create a positive outcome, considering that they are both hurting each other. Randal is controlling the reader (since she is a figment of his mind) by forcing her into these situations that involve around "The Loop" as a way to pull her back to way she was originally, knowing that she wants to escape his grasp but she simply can't because she is a figment.
As we all know, the reader is also guilty of this abuse. She manipulates, controls, Minimizes, and abuse as a whole.
Now you must be thinking how it's possible for her to do all of these things when she's Randal's imagination and it's very simple. Our brains tend to replay bad memories despite wanting us to push it away. However, the reason as to why the brain does this is to learn from the event so it doesn't happen again. As for Randal, he isn't wishing to allow his brain to learn from the past as he continues on with The Loop.
Two people who are abusive in their own way do not mix well. Just like fish and milk, when eaten together, they can curdle up the stomach and lead to toxins.
So no. They were never supposed to be compatible.
◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤ WHAT IS THE "CORRUPTION"?
TW:mention of suicide.
The corruption, also known as the Void, is what "poisoned" Randal's mind as a way to fight back the false reality that he forces himself and others to face.
The Void continues to grow as the story progresses and all the other countless times. Once Randal commits suicide by "blowing his brains out", the spread restarts itself and the Loop begins all over again.
The corruption can be seen as the "Hero" in the story, since it's trying to fight back those bad memories inside Randal's mind by "erasing" them. But since Randal is not going down without a fight, it will continue to grow until it explodes.
◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤ HOW AND WHY DID THE AUTHOR COME UP WITH THE STORY?
The main reason why I came up with this story is because I thought that it would be something new. Nobody has really taken a good hit on the "Dream world" in Ranfren so I thought that it was my time to give it a go. Just knowing that all the people who come across my book would experience the dark turn as they progress through the chapters. I watched it with my own eyes yesterday, very entertaining.
And how did I come up with all of this? Simple, to make people paranoid. I like to poke and broad with some of y'all in the comments who are desperately wanting Randal and the reader to become a very compatible couple (because YOU'RE the reader) Do I feel bad? Maybe. Will I ever do this again? ☺️
◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤ DID AUTHOR USE INSPIRATION?
There's actually a whole lot of inspiration inside of this book, not that it truly mattered but I say that it's always a good thing to add some inspiration into your story. Of course this is a 21 (now 22) chaptered book so I can only remember a few.
1.) The long monologue the reader had in, "I still feel as if i'm here, but i'm gone" is actually kinda in the form of Pearl's (the horror/drama film) monologue. Wasn't expecting anyone to know it since it was only a short part of her monologue that I've used and just replaced some sentences.
2.) In "Play date" there is a Melanie Martinez verse and the title is also the same as her song. ("Just me and you and you and me alone")
3.) On the last four chapters, three of them (NOT "Wake Up.") have a lyric of the same song in them. The song is a really old song and I recently listened to it and figured that it'll be a good touch! It's called "Here But I'm Gone" by Curtis Mayfield!
◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤ LASTLY, WHATS THE QUESTION?
Now remember, be wise with your decisions because this is all up to YOU guys. Don't forget how I ended this first book cause I maybe do the same with the other book. You never know. So i'm just throwing that out there.
As for the question, should I make another book of this one? Obviously not continuing the events of this book (Like the corruption and false reality) Most likely taking place BEFORE the events happened. As we all know, the reader wasn't always the cruel person she was now than she was before. So there you have it, the reader is going to be nice!
But overall, thank you all for being patient with me and reading this book. I genuinely didn't think I was going to get anywhere with this and I was going through with the fact that I may even drop the book but you guys encouraged me to continue to write the book so I thank you for that! I also love how lots of you realize the sudden changes in the format of the chapters, lets me know that you are overly invested in the book.
I'm sorry for putting that ending in the book, it's the only one that actually made logical sense. To me, two toxic people should NOT be a thing because it will get worse overtime and yall just hurting each other.
