Chelsea sat on her bed, looking at the clock. It wasn't that long after 1 in the afternoon when she decided it was time to confront Oliver. She had left it for four days and now she felt ready. Alex hadn't shown her face since speaking to Chelsea in the bar.
Chelsea slipped on her jacket and shoes and walked out the door as soon as she was dressed. She walked through the town and past Isabelle's old house. It was still taped up by the police, but it looked fine. The windows had been replaced the door was new, but Chelsea could stand there and think about Isabelle. She had gone and started a new life wherever she was, maybe she moved after she told Chelsea she was going to Nova Scotia. Chelsea shook her head and continued to walk. It took about ten minutes before she was outside his house. Oliver's car was parked outside so she knew he was indoors. She walked up the path and knocked at the door. The door creaked open and Oliver peered out before opening the door wide and smiling a little. "Chelsea, Hi."
"Hey Oliver. Can I come in?" She asked him and he nodded his head. Chelsea walked into his house and straight into the lounge, sitting on the couch.
"Did you want a drink?"
"No thanks. I've just come here to talk."
"Okay." Oliver hesitated a minute before sitting down opposite her on one of the dining chairs. "I'm so glad we are talking again." Chelsea gulped and nodded slowly.
"I'm sorry, I just needed a few days space."
"I understand completely Chelsea." He smiled lightly and the fluttery attraction in Chelsea's body alighted but she tried to take her mind off of it. "I didn't think you would want to see me again, and if that was the case then I would leave."
"Leave?" Oliver nodded sadly. "Why?"
"The girl I love rejecting me, because I was too much of a coward to show her the real me." Chelsea gasped a little and Oliver chuckled darkly. "What was it something I said?"
"Umm.. no. Continue." Chelsea breathed out and then held up her hand. "Actually wait, I have a question. Well many questions but this ones going to start it off..." Chelsea blinked a couple of times and clapped her palms together as a sign of nervousness. "When was you going to tell me you were a vampire?" Oliver squashed his eyebrows together and squinted his eyes. "I spoke to Alex."
"Why did you speak to her?" He asked almost instantly, sounding harsh.
"I asked you a question, don't answer me with another question."
"I was going to tell you at your graduation."
"Why the graduation? Why that long away, it's like a whole month... It's been nearly a year Ollie, and you didn't think to tell me?" Chelsea sighed and slipped off her jacket.
"I wanted the time to be right." He explained but Chelsea shook her head.
"No matter when you would've told me, the time would never be right. You lied to me Oliver."
"I don't like it when you call me Oliver. it's too tense."
"Please don't try to make this a joking matter..."
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay."
"Why did you speak to Alex?"
"I needed to get my questions out to her as well." Oliver laughed wholeheartedly and Chelsea scowled. "I'm sorry, but having a normal life, and then being thrown into a world that I was secretly living in and knew nothing about, of course I'm going to have a lot of questions. I'm supernatural."
"Yes, doppelgänger's are part of supernatural world but you aren't immortal." Oliver explained more.
"Are there anymore secrets I should know?" He paused.
"You know about Isabelle?"
"Yes. I know the full truth now. Can I ask? Alex said she's trying to capture a girl who's been fleeing her for a good 500 years now. Is that true?"
"Alex always holds grudges, and whenever someone crosses her, she wants her revenge. She'll go on for another 500 years if she could."
"Why? What's the point?"
"The girl she's after, ruined her life. Something to do with, a child and a witch."
"What?"
"I don't know. Alex never lets anyone know her business. She keeps it all to herself unless she actually wants people to know of her plans."
"When did you change to a vampire?" Chelsea blurted out.
"I've been this age for 492 years." Chelsea's mouth gaped open and she inhaled a sharp breath. "overwhelming isn't it." Chelsea nodded silently.
"You look good for your age." And they both laughed together in unison. "Who turned you?"
"My sister."
"What happened to your sister?"
"We fell out about two hundred years ago."
"Woah." Chelsea looked at him gently. "Can I ask why?"
"She wanted me to be someone I didn't want to be, she isn't a very nice person Chelsea and I hope you never get to meet her. She is a vicious person."
"Why is she like that?"
"When you are transformed into a vampire, you have to die. You can either be killed or kill yourself. Kaitlyn was killed by my father when he suspected she became the devil but she bargained with someone to change her." Chelsea listened to him, as he spoke of his past. "And then Kaitlyn came back and killed both of our parents and took me."
"She took you? What does that mean?"
"I didn't know anything of what Kaitlyn had become before she took me, because she disappeared. She's 8 years older than me, so it was when my 21st birthday came around. Back then we had to go by the rules of how old you were, so me being legal to drink I had a few with my friends before coming home. Kaitlyn sat at the table with a piece of cake that she had stolen from the rich people that lived a good hour or so away from where we were squatting. I came home and there was a metal glass of what I assumed was red wine, Kaitlyn had one too but hers wasn't red wine." Oliver stared at Chelsea deeply.
"It was blood?" Oliver nodded. "What was in yours?"
"Mine was red wine but it had her blood in it. She told me to sit down and I remember her smiling that evil dark smile, the blood had stained her lips. She spoke to me "Oliver I have a question for you." She started and I remember asking her what it was. "How do you feel about staying 21 forever? Staying this age for years and years and never ageing." I reached for the cup and took some of the wine, but I shouldn't have. I kinda acted like you, at the first time." Oliver breathed a pause and then continued. "and that was it. She killed me at the table and then I woke up a good few hours later, transitioning into a vampire."
"Oh my god."
"Yep... She killed me, her own brother, she killed our parents and as soon as I turned she left me. But she would just pop up out of nowhere like a rash. I haven't seen her for 200 years now and if I ever did see her... I'd probably stake her."
"Stake? I'm sorry, I'm new to all this other world, you'll have to tell me."
"Stake is one of the ways that we can be killed. These are the only two ways that I know that we can be killed by. We get injured by wood, so the stakes are made from wood and if a hunter or someone who despises us strikes us in the heart we die instantly, or there's the quicker way of our heads being chopped off."
"Okay.. I'll think I take that drink now..." Oliver chuckled and walked quickly through the lounge, into the kitchen and back again within 2 seconds. Chelsea sat shocked on the couch, her eyes wide with amazement and she heard Oliver laugh again.
