Mia had always been the person Autumn would call if she needed anything. Mia taught Autumn how to do her makeup when she started year 7, how to flirt with boys. Autumn looked up to Mia and saw her as an older sister. So when she went to the toilet and was convinced she was dying when she saw blood in her underwear she called Mia.

"Mia?" Autumn said her voice was shaking with panic.

"Hey sweetheart what's up?"

"I think I'm dying."

"Why do you think that?"

"There is blood coming out of me." She said letting out a small sniffle.

"I'll be there in five, okay?"

"Okay."

Mia hung up the phone. Autumn was left crying in the bathroom. She was home alone. Reece was out with some friends, she wasn't too sure where her Father was, nor did she care.

5 minutes later she heard a knocking on the door. She went and opened it and saw Mia standing there. "Hey sweetheart, what happened then?" She asked while wiping away some of Autumn's tears. "I-I don't know." Autumn started trying not to stutter. "I went to the toilet and there was blood, I think I'm dying." Mia let out a sigh of relief. "Autumn your not dying, sweetheart." Autumn looked up at her. "You just got your period." She said pushing some of Autumn's hair out of her face. "My what?" Mia looked at her with concern. "No one's ever told you what a period is?" Autumn shook her head. "Oh sweetheart, okay come with me."

Mia took Autumn up into the bathroom. And through the door pasted her a pad and explained to her how to put it on. Once she had they went into Autumn's bedroom so Mia could explain to Autumn what this meant. "So a period is when the uterine lining sheds which is what causes the blood, basically what this means is the body is getting ready to have kids, this is the start of you becoming a woman." Autumn nodded. "Now I'm assuming you don't have any pads or tampons in the house, do you?" Autumn shook her head. "Okay looks like we're going to get some."

Mia drove Autumn to the shops and helped her pick out some pads and tampons. She also took her down the sweet isle. "Pick whatever you want." Mia said to Autumn. "You sure?" She said looking up at Mia. "Yes, now be quick before I change my mind." Autumn nodded and picked out a dairy milk chocolate bar. "Good choice." Mia went to pay for everything then loaded everything into the car.

The drive home the girls put on the playlist they'd made and were singing that together. Once they arrived Mia helped Autumn put everything away then went to say goodbye, but then Autumn turned around and said. "Please stay, at least until Reece gets back, I hate being alone." Mia looked at the younger girl who was giving her these massive puppy dog eyes. "Alright, what do you want to do then, do you want to watch a film." Autumn nodded and both of them went to the sofa to find a film to watch together.

By the halfway mark Autumn had fallen asleep on Mia's lap whilst Mia was playing with her hair. That's when he heard the front door open and Reece came through to the living room. "What are you doing here?" He asked. "Autumn needed help with something." She said still playing with her hair. Reece looked confused. "So why didn't she call me?" He asked. "Because.." Mia had to think of a way to word what she was about to say. "It's not exactly something you can help with." Mia and Reece look made awkward eye contact for a minute until Reece finally clocked it. "Ohhh, is she okay?" Mia nodded. "We went to the shop and got everything she needed. She's fine." Reece nodded back. "Thank you." He simply said. Mia hummed as if to say your welcome.

Mia stayed until the end of the movie still stroking her hair. "You staying for dinner or you leaving?" Mia turned off the TV. "No I better go, Mum probably cooking something." Mia went to get but Autumn started to stir. "Reecey come get her head I don't want to wake her up." Reece came out from the kitchen and took Mia place. Mia went and put on her shoes. "Thanks again for today Mia." Mia turned to Reece. "It wasn't a problem, if she needs anything else let me know." Reece nodded. "Look at you, Amelia Roberts has matured, who knew." Mia let out a slight laugh before walking to make direct eye contact with Reece. "Don't you dare call me Amelia." Before giving him a slight tap round the face. "Bye Amelia." Reece said before Mia left trying to tease her. "See you tomorrow Reecey." She said before leaving and getting into her car.
