"The planet will collapse in four hours..." their new job was explained by a L.A.W Science employee known as Dr. Agnes. While Scritch listened to her every word, Scratch couldn't care less. The temperature on this planet was not really his thing and the bug constantly landing on his fur.

"Can we just get a move on?!" he yelled swatting he bugs off his back.

Scritch rolled his eyes at his partner getting everything ready to proceed the mission. Covered in another suit that resembles an outfit for bees they were on their way.

"This is the last time I take on a lousy job as this. Let the squid boy deal with this messed up tasks."

Scratch kept on cursing while the bugs kept following them to a cave. Scritch held up the device to find the Lythops, the creatures that they should save before the planet explodes. They pulled the lights out of their backpacks and walked casually into the cave. Scratch purred as the temperature went down making it more comfortable for him. Scritch replied the same way before he heard something behind them. The black cat just shrugged at his partners big round eyes, "Keep your paranoia to yourself. There is no one but us in here!" The device kept moving in a rapid pace as they walked even further into the cave. But these creatures were nowhere in sight.

"Hihi furry"

The cats looked behind them before looking at each other. They were certain someone was laughing in the distance. "Hello? Anyone here?" asked Scratch hold the light up. All they seen are massive rocks in shape of hands. The two didn't find that impressive and turned their backs to it. Instantly they moved quick grabbing the cats in one go. Unaware of what is happening, the cats started to panic meowing, hissing and scratching the hands from the insides. It felt like hours until the hands released them, making the cats fall to their paws and feet. Scratch was more concerned while Scritch watched with wide eyes at the hands again. The cave hit a dead end which was highly lit by flames. Now they can see it clearly that those hands weren't dead rocks...but actually living beings.

"What are those things?" asked Scratch his partner who only shrugged in reply.

The leader of the Lythops was a little bigger than the others with a massive crystal on its head. Although it spoke in a very cute voice it was far from being friendly. Scratch hoped to reason with them offering the Lythops help. But his biggest mistake was to use the paintings on the walls. The black cat explained on who ordered them to rescue the Lythops and the eyes of the little creature went narrow.

"You are with the striking sun?"

Scratch nodded with a smile, "Yeah yeah the striking sun, the old hag, whatever...so can we just move on? I want to get out of this dump." Not caring that the little Lythops was not happy with the reply, he didn't expect it to gather his friends to form two massive hands again. But this time they didn't grab them, on no...they wanted to squash them. Scritch noticed the danger quickly and ran past his partner and out of the cave. A few seconds later the black cat joined him, passing a few skeletons that had their head split in two. The fear got them to move faster on their tiny legs. The cave shook as the Lythops slammed their fists on the ground. One jump and they were out of the cave, as Scratch dusted himself off, "This is it!" He never sets a single foot back into the cave not even Scratch pleading eyes to give it a second try helped.

Back at the ship, Dr. Agnes was furious seeing the cats empty handed. Scritch had to hold back Scratch from arguing with the Doctor as she began to insult their profession. The black cat told her to shove it while giving her the finger. With that said he grabbed his partner and went back into the ship. Dr. Agnes demanded them to get back; she even doubled the price to keep them motivated. But Scratch was not having it. Closing the doors shut the ship took off leaving the Doctor on the planet. Not even caring that this planet will explode in two hours. Since this wasn't an escort job the cats could not care less.

Dr. Agnes was out f her mind, cursing at the incompetence of the cats.

But she had no choice but to get other Mercs to do the job, "Let's see what idiots I can get to do the job properly." And of course the so-called-idiots are the Monkeywrench crew we all know. Agnes went back to her previous wage while searching for a new device to track down the Lythops. It was the last one, "Hopefully these two will get the job done, these are my last ones."
