AURABELLA GROANED AS HER UNCLE dragged her down to the local cemetery. Despite her being dead, she hated cemetery. The gave her goosebumps and a feeling that she really didn't like.As they arrived at the entrance to the cemetery, the Katherine look alike was standing up. When she turned she gasped seeing the two vampires standing there.
"You okay?" Stefan asked softly. Aurabella fiddled with the ends of her leather jacket while watching the interaction between the two.
She sighed, nodding slightly, "Were you two following me?"
"No, we just— we saw you fall." Stefan explained, pointing to the ground the girl just got up from.
"Uh-huh." She nodded, "And you just happened to be hanging out in a cemetery."
"We're visiting. We have, uh, family here." Aurabella sighed, flicking a piece of her hair behind her shoulder.
"Oh." The girl sighed, her eyes moving back and forth between the two in front of her in guilt, "Wow, tactless. I'm sorry. It's the fog. It's making me foggy. And then back there, there was this bird. And it was all very Hitchcock for a second. That is the bird movie, right? The Hitchcock...?"
The girl sighed, pausing with a smile, "I'm Elena."
"I'm Stefan and this," He turned to his niece, "Is Aurabella."
"I know." Elena nodded, "We have history together."
Aurabella raised an eyebrow before smiling, "And English and French."
"Right." Elena smiled before her eyes drifted back to Stefans'. Stefan reached forward and pulled a lead out of Elena's hair, "Thanks."
"Nice rings." Elena spoke again, pointing at Stefan and Aurabella's rings.
"Oh." Stefan said, lifting his hand and fiddling with the ring, "Uh... it's a family ring. Yeah. Kind of stuck with them. It's weird, huh?"
"No." Elena quickly smiled, "It's just— I mean, there's rings like Aurabella's, and then there's that."
Aurabella's face scrunched slightly at a familiar scent hitting her nose, "Did you hurt yourself?"
"Hmm?" Elena hummed, looking at the girl in confusion.
"Did you hurt yourself?" Aurabella repeated, a little louder than before.
"Oh, uh... I don't know." Elena sighed and walked over to the rock that was beside the three. She leaned her leg against it and pulled up her jeans, revealing a large cut, "Oh, would you look at that? That is not pretty."
Aurabella looked away, her Uncle obviously doing the same. Elena looked at the two in concern, "Are you guys okay?"
"You should go." Stefan spoke, "Take care of that."
Stefan grabbed his nieces arm and sped out of there before Aurabella had the chance to even think about biting into that cut.
Later that night, Aurabella was sat in the windmill of her room, reading one of her older books that she took everywhere with her.
She had, had her... dinner and she was now full and no thoughts of Elena's cut or anything in mind. She was just relaxing, reading a book and relaxing.
Something cut through the silence of her calm room, "Bella, meet me at the Grill?"
"Do I have to?" Aurabella spoke, turning the page of her book before looking at her doorway where her Uncle stood, "I could just... stay here."
"No. Meet me at the Grill." Stefan said before walking away from his nieces room. Stefan would never leave the poor girls side ever since the incident at the last school.
Aurabella sighed, pulling her black heeled boots back on and walking downstairs, picking up her leather jacket on the way.
She walked out of the Salvatore mansion and headed into the town centre where the Mystic Grill was sat. She sighed, pushing the door open and stepping inside.
The place was busy-ish. People were scattered from table to table, some people were sitting at the bar and some people were playing pool.
"Aurabella, right?" A voice spoke from behind the vampire. She turned to see the girl from earlier that day, Elena's best friend, "I'm Bonnie."
"Hi. Uh, you already know my name." Aurabella chuckled nervously, fiddling with the ends of her leather sleeves.
"Come sit with me and Caroline. I need someone else to talk to or I'll probably die." Bonnie joked, making Aurabella chuckle.
"Sure." Aurabella nodded and followed the girl to the table she and Caroline were sat at.
"Hi. I'm Caroline. You're Aurabella, right?" Caroline smiled, her chin in the palm of her hands, her elbow resting on the table.
"Yup. That's me." Aurabella smiled, "I'll be right back. I need a drink."
"Don't worry about it. I'll get it for you." Caroline smiled widely, "What do you want?"
"Uhh, can of coke, please." Aurabella smiled, Caroline nodded and walked over to the bar, "I'll be right back. I'm going to the bathroom."
"Okay." Bonnie nodded and Aurabella quickly walked over to the bathroom. She didn't actually need the bathroom. She just needed to get away.
She stood in front of the mirror for a couple of minutes, fixing her outfit and hair before leaving. As she was walking back to the table — which now had two more people — she bumped into a grunge teen.
"Watch it." Aurabella snapped slightly, walking past the boy and to her table. She happily sat back down and took a sip from her cup which Caroline must have gotten her as well.
Stefan and Elena had now joined the three at the table and Caroline was basically all over Stefan which made Aurabella want to gag.
